John Brown was born on April 4, 1904 in Hull, Yorkshire, England. He was an actor, known for Strangers on a Train (1951), The Wild One (1953) and Hans Christian Andersen (1952). He died on May 16, 1957 in West Hollywood, California, USA.

Trivia (4)

Portrayed Chester A. Riley's neighbor Gillis on "The Life of Riley" for ABC Radio (1944-1945) and NBC Radio (1945-1951). He also portrayed "the friendly undertaker" Digby "Digger" O'Dell on the same show.
He played "Al" on the radio series "My Friend Irma". Al was the boy friend of Irma.
He also played the narrator and lead character on Damon Runyon Theater for several seasons.
Victim of the Red Channels blacklist. Unable to find work in broadcasting or movies after 1952.
