Posters and Synopses for On The Inside, The Witches Of Oz, The Eagle Path, and Bridge To Nowhere

24 October 2010 9:35 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Last year, we brought you loads of coverage from Afm (American Film Market).  Afm is where buyers and sellers do business to bring you the films you might be seeing in the near future.  They use artwork and synopses which are used for promotional purposes but which we use to bring you news on these films.  With this year’s Afm gearing up, we have artwork and synopsis on four upcoming movies: On the Inside starring Nick Stahl and Olivia Wilde; The Witches of Oz (which is actually a mini-series) starring Christopher Lloyd, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Lance Henriksen; The Eagle Path written, produced, directed by, and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme; and Bridge to Nowhere starring Ving Rhames, Danny Masterson, and Bijou Phillipps, and directed by Blair Underwood.

Hit the jump for artwork and synopses for these films plus a trailer for Bridge to Nowhere.  Look for a lot more Afm coverage soon. »

Jemal Draco... Got the Part!

28 September 2010 11:03 AM, PDT | backstage.com | See recent Backstage news »

Los Angeles native Jemal Draco says he has always felt like an underdog. "I'm ethnic, I'm skinny, I'm short, and I'm very alternative-looking," he explains. That's why he was thrilled when writer/director Kimberly Seilhamer called him in to read for the part of Tyler in her feature-length horror film "One by One: Death's Door" after receiving his submission through BackStage.com."All horror films have the token jock that does what he wants to do and says stupid things, but Tyler is more complicated than that," Draco explains. "Kimberly wanted someone a little more alternative and different. I was just excited to have the chance to actually read for a part like this. I came in dressed in a studded vest, spiked my hair, had boots, ripped jeans, and put my hair in a Mohawk.""We searched high and low for Tylers, let me tell you," says Seilhamer. "I interviewed probably 75 to 100 Tylers. »

Celeste Thorson: A Back Stage Exclusive

17 June 2010 1:04 AM, PDT | backstage.com | See recent Backstage news »

"I've always had a big mouth and I've always spoken my mind," says Celeste Thorson, and thankfully what comes out of it is worth listening to. A woman of many talents, Celeste trained at the renowned Institute Allende in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico, where she learned sculpture, bronze casting, and other artisanal methods in the same traditional way that her mother and grandmother did. She's also a serious political activist who pounds the pavement with petitions in hand, and has just co-written a screenplay about the nineteenth century African-American actor Ira Aldridge. A successful model, Celeste currently serves as one of the hosts of "Destination X," a travel show in which beautiful women do dangerous things in exotic places. Chosen as this week's Actor2Watch, Celeste will be featured in a series or articles, fun facts and social media tweets through this week for subscribers of Girl2Watch.com. »
