In her youth, she wanted to be a dancer, but was persuaded by her actor-father to become an actress instead.
From the 1950's, enjoyed a successful career on the London stage, including a season at the Old Vic.
Tutored aspiring actors at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Sister-in-law of Elizabeth Kentish.
Made her London West End debut in November 1942 as Marie in 'Aren't Men Beasts' at the Garrick Theatre.
