Both films scored big with moviegoers and celebrities, so MTV News rounded up a bunch of famous folks to ask them whether they're on Team Twilight or Team Slumdog.
Although most people were fans of both, when it came time to make a decision, it was Team Slumdog for the win. For them, the Oscar-winning film really seemed to capture the essence of what they love about movies. But, of course, there will always be those steadfast, card-carrying Twilighters.

Transformers star Megan Fox and Watchmen superhero stunner Malin Akerman are among the top 10 of the world's most desirable women, according to a new poll.
But it may surprise some that Ms Fox is not in the top spot. The brunette came second, losing out to House star Olivia Wilde who was deemed so sexy she makes body temperatures rise.
Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli - who is dating actor Leonardo DiCaprio - came third and Malin Akerman, who played the scantily-clad Silk Spectre II (pictured) in Watchmen, was fourth.
In Maxim magazine's 2009 Hot 100, an annual poll to find the world's most desirable women, it said of Ms Fox: "Do women get more painfully hot than this? Megan Fox has the face of an angel, a body so perfect that God may have carved it out of soap and sex appeal that could melt a unicorn's horn."
