Queensryche have parted ways with vocalist Geoff Tate. Tate has since signed with InsideOut Music and is working on a solo album to be released in the fall.
All That Remains will release a new album entitled A War You Can Not Win in September via Razor & Tie/Prosthetic.
Children of Bodom have signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The Finnish metal band will release a new album in 2013.
Just Like Vinyl have signed to Superball Music. The band features Thomas Erak formerly of The Fall of Troy. Their new album is due out in the late summer.

For the most part, comic book movies have never had great soundtracks, and generally, they tend to bring together a generic mass of rawk music, the kind of stuff that studio suits think that the steretypical 14 year-old boys watching the film would really be into. But the rest of the movie world has realized that a) girls listen to music too and b) corporate rock is out, indie rock is in (please see the shift towards Pitchfork approved bands on those "Twilight" soundtracks). But for the folks at Marvel, it's still 1998.
The official soundtrack list for "The Avengers" was tweeted out today and it's one of those "music from and inspired by" deals, but the selection is truly headscratching. Seriously, what fucking year is this? Papa Roach? Scott Weiland? Theory Of A Deadman? Buckcherry? Evanescence? Do people still actually listen to this music? Our guess is that the going rate »

Marvel Music and Hollywood Records announced today that Soundgarden has reunited to record the band's first new song in fifteen years -- "Live to Rise" -- for the upcoming "Avengers" soundtrack, "Avengers Assemble." The song is also featured in the end credits of the film.
"When the opportunity arose to write an original song for 'Marvel's The Avengers' film came our way, we thought it could be a cool match," said Soundgarden. "We are excited to release our new song 'Live To Rise,' which is also the only new song in the film."
The 14-track music compilation includes music featured in and inspired by the movie, reports SuperHeroHype.com. Other artists on the soundtrack include Papa Roach, Rise Against, Evanescence and Bush. Along with "Avengers Assemble," Marvel Music and Hollywood Records are releasing an "Avengers" original motion picture soundtrack featuring score by composer and Grammy-winner Alan Silvestri. »

Matt DeVries has joined Fear Factory on bass. DeVries has previously played with Chimaira and Six Feet Under. He replaces Bryon Stroud, who recently left to join 3 Inches of Blood. The band's new album will be released in the early summer.
