What can you say about a movie called Evilution? The title alone dictates one of two feelings the viewer will have about this movie. Either it will be a "so bad, it's good" movie, one in which the absurdness of the film is recognized and is played as such, or it will be a "so bad, it is really bad" movie. If I went by the first 5 minutes of the movie, I would have gone with the first option, but then the real movie kicked in and, unfortunately, it becomes the latter. this dreck is played straight as an arrow, serious and earnest, when it needed to be a hamfest of the highest order.
The plot, if you want to call it that, centers on a scientist and Captain named Darren Hall, the sole survivor of the opening scene. Hall, who escapes the blood and carnage of an army facility »

Within the horror genre exists a subgenre that could be called "nightmare movies," films that focus on the relentless pursuit of one or two characters by a malevolent force, with no digressions into significant subplots. Like a real bad dream, such a film need not always proceed with complete "realism"--and therein lies a potential stumbling block. There's a precarious balance that must be maintained between nightmare logic and no logic, and Jeepers Creepers, though it maintains the right atmosphere to the end, winds up tipping over onto the wrong side.
Not long into the picture, college-age siblings Trish (Gina Philips) and Darry (Justin Long) are staring down a pipe leading deep into the ground outside a creepy, abandoned church. They've »

Victor Salva recently stated that the third installment in the popular horror film series has nearly got its coin. "The financing is just coming together, so perhaps we will be in preproduction shortly," Salva says. "We have been saying this for a year now, but that’s really about all I can with any certainty." He's also certain of another thing and that's who will be starring in the film, at the moment, titled "Jeepers Creepers 3". The casting includes some familiar faces including Jonathan Breck who played the 'Creeper' both in the original flick and its sequel. Gina Phillips, the heroine of the original flick, is also confirmed by the director to be returning. Read on for the rest of the story! »

Back in February of last year, director Victor Salva revealed that he has signed on to write and direct the third "Jeepers Creepers" film, tentatively called "Jeepers Creepers 3: The Creeper Walks Among Us." DreadCentral has now caught up with Salva to get an update on the project. "The financing is just coming together, so perhaps we will be in pre-production shortly," he told the site. "We have been saying this for a year now, but that's really about all I can with any certainty." Salva went on to say that the new film will be called "Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral, and confirmed that Jonathan Breck, the Creeper, will once again return to reprise his role. "Though we have decided, after much fan feedback, to give him his truck back for the new film," he said. Gina Phillips, the actress from the first film, will also return for "Jeepers Creepers 3." "[She is] playing Trisha Jenner, »

You would think that Jeepers Creepers III: Cathedral would find an easier time pulling together financing. Combined, the first two entries made over $120 million worldwide, yet creator Victor Salva is having a hell of a time getting the third film to fly. Salva tells Dread Central that financing is "just" coming together - something that's been reiterated over the last year. And he says Jonathan Breck and Gina Phillips are still in line to return (the former to reprise his role as the Creeper and the latter to play Trisha Jenner again, now with a son). We have decided that the third film should, like one and two, be different from each other in look and locale," Salva says. "After all, the highway in question 'runs the length of the state.' So you may »

-Interview by Nic Brown-
Actress and model Melanie Robel is a self-described, modern day gypsy. Her affinity for travel has served her well, allowing her to take advantage of acting roles where ever the opportunity arises. What kind of roles? She’s played a post-apocalyptic assassin, a monster in a bikini, and an even worse kind of monster: a bitchy, wannabe model!
One thing Melanie doesn’t play at though is her career. She’s not afraid to try challenging new roles. That’s how this young actress has amassed an impressive list of credits in just a few short years! Melanie took a short break from her work to talk to B Movie Man Nic Brown about making movies, her secret vice, and why we might think she’s nerdy, but dedicated to the art of acting!
Nic - Melanie, how did you get your start acting?
