Gay Of The Dead #21: I Sell The Dead writer/director, Glenn McQuaid.

23 August 2009 4:49 PM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

As an Irishman who’s never set foot in Ireland, I’m sort of obsessed with all things Irish. So I was ecstatic to find out I Sell The Dead was written and directed a real, live Irishman, from Ireland, with the accent, the pale (I call it “royal”) complexion, and the Guinness addiction—Glenn McQuaid. Let the stalking begin!

The press has had a field day with McQuaid’s film (including Fangoria; you can watch a nice “Making of…” feaurette and read a “Director’s Statement” here) McQuaid and the film are basically omnipresent in the horror and mainstream press at the moment, which is awesome…

Lindsey Haun Cast as Sookie's Cousin on True Blood

11 August 2009 11:21 AM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

A couple of months ago we posted an excerpt from an interview with "True Blood"'s Evan Rachel Wood in which she mentioned that her character, Sophie-Anne, would be interacting with "Hadley", Sookie (Anna Paquin)'s cousin who had yet to be cast. Today we found out who would be playing said Hadley.

Lindsey Haun, singer and the former lead vocalist of hard rock band 7th Fall (and also one of the leads of Paddy Breathnach's Shrooms), landed the gig; and she wrote all about it in her MySpace blog:

First of all, "True Blood"! Sooooo... our guitar player, Sarah Carter, was on episode 2 of this season, season 2, with her other band Rocket!! The episode is called "Get This Party Started" and Rocket is the back up band for the Christian rock singer chick. it's pretty funny... and kinda wrong actually... in a good way. But wait there's more! »

New DVD releases for Tuesday February 10, 2009

10 February 2009 11:06 AM, PST | QuietEarth.us | See recent QuietEarth news »

This is easily one of the best weeks for DVD releases we've seen in a long while in fact, as I write this, I realize that this post almost works to recap of a lot of the high points of last years cinematic offerings. So, I suggest you grab a coffee and take a few minutes to just digest all the great titles, read some of our past reviews, and look at some trailers before you take a trip through any of the amazon links and start browsing.

First and foremost, we've got Fernando Meirelles' somewhat controversial adaptation of Blindness (review) hitting store shelves. Many people Loved this film ,and in a lot of ways I really like it as well. It certainly pulls no punches and all the actors are amazing (particularly Julian Moore) but there was still something about the movie that felt unfinished and small (not "intimate" mind you, »
