Vitaliano Brancati was born on July 24, 1907 in Pachino, Sicily, Italy. He was a writer, known for Anni facili (1953), Journey to Italy (1954) and Times Gone By (1952). He was married to Anna Proclemer. He died on September 25, 1954 in Turin, Piedmont, Italy.

Italian poet, novelist, journalist and dramatist who married the actress Anna Proclemer. In 1920 he joined the Fascist movement, but abandoned it in 1937 and started teaching in Sicily. Having been born into a bourgeois family, his work dealt with the Sicilian bourgeoisie. His early works were censored because of their erotic content.
Father of actress/agent Antonia Brancati.
