The Post-White House Anthony Scaramucci Has a Hollywood PR Man in His Corner

Anthony Scaramucci's tenure in the White House may have been (extremely) short, but he's making moves to capitalize on the national attention and interest he received during his memorable stint as communications director.

As the smooth-talking New York financier considers his next steps, "The Mooch" is now being represented by veteran Hollywood publicist Howard Bragman, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. (The news was first reported by Politico.)

Bragman is the founder and chairman of communications agency Fifteen Minutes, and he has decades of experience representing A-listers and advocating for social causes. When...

Bill O’Reilly’s Harassment Claims Just Became a Full-Blown Crisis, Say Hollywood PR Experts

For 16 years, Bill O’Reilly held the No. 1 spot in cable news. His show, “The O’Reilly Factor,” mercilessly crushed its competition, remaining untouchable… until now. Recent allegations that he sexually harassed several women are threatening to bring down the once invincible TV pundit, according to Hollywood PR experts. “This is a big deal, let’s not sugarcoat it,” Howard Bragman, chairman and founder of 15 Minutes Public Relations, told TheWrap. “This just escalated from controversy to crisis.” Also Read: Brie Larson, Patton Oswald, Bette Midler Weigh In on Campaign to Dump Bill O'Reilly At least 11 advertisers have severed their ties with O’Reilly’s show.

Oscars Best Picture Fiasco: What PWC and the Academy Must Do to Manage the Fallout
It should have been a moment of triumph for the Oscars. After two years of social media blowback and protests about the lack of diversity in its membership ranks and across their list of nominees, the Academy Awards honored a record number of African-American artists. In a stunning upset, “Moonlight,” a tender-hearted drama about growing up gay and black, picked up best picture. Instead, an epic flub that saw presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway mistakenly award the top prize to “La La Land” has dominated headlines.

“The success of films such as ‘Moonlight’ and the greater balance in terms of the diversity of the winners has been totally overshadowed by this,” said Kevin Craig, CEO and founder of Plmr, a public relations firm. “In other years, a film with a budget of $1.5 million winning best picture would be seismic. Instead we’re talking about Faye Dunaway, Warren Beatty, and this car crash footage.

News later confirmed In Touch's claim that Bragman and Zebisch are representing the Hgtv personalities. Other details from the magazine's cover story didn't sit well with Tarek. For example, a source said Tarek "found humor in insulting his wife in...

Charlie Sheen Is HIV-Positive – Could His Exes Sue Him?
Charlie Sheen will tell the world about his HIV diagnosis on Tuesday – a secret he kept hidden partially out of concern he'd face legal consequences, sources say.

"The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners," Howard Bragman, a Hollywood publicist and crisis manager approached by those close to Sheen, told People of Tuesday's scheduled Today show sitdown. "You don't take that lightly."

Now, the question is when Sheen learned he has HIV and whether any of his exes are at risk. Could

Quentin Tarantino Faces Mounting Pressure as Police Boycotts Spread
After a week of silence in the face of growing police boycotts, Quentin Tarantino faces mounting pressure to respond to their anger over his calling cops “murderers.” The outspoken director, whose new movie “The Hateful Eight” opens Christmas Day, has thus far remained silent. Officers unions in Los Angeles and Philadelphia have joined the NYPD in blasting the director’s comments last weekend, where he labeled cops “murderers” at a rally against police brutality. “He was doing what’s called ‘watchful waiting,'” veteran crisis expert Howard Bragman told TheWrap, saying the past few days were a test of the boycott’s stamina.

Why Emily Blunt’s Citizenship Gaffe Is a ‘Speed Bump, Not a Sinkhole’
While Emily Blunt passed her U.S. Citizenship exam with flying colors, the actress endured a different kind of test this week — on the consequences of joking about patriotism in America. The British star issued an apology Thursday, after her recent quip that the Aug. 6 Republican presidential debate made her regret becoming an American citizen. While Blunt says her comment was an “offhand joke,” some conservatives went wild over the remarks. But crisis PR manager Howard Bragman believes the controversy was blown out of proportion. “She’ll get through this. What she said was taken out of context,” Bragman, chairman and founder of.

How Donald Trump Can Save His Political Future After Mexican Immigrant Disaster
Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy. But now that he has officially kicked off his presidential campaign, the Gop hopeful faces more scrutiny than ever before; and according to one expert, more pushback than he’s used to. “In the past, he’s sort of shuffled between being political and being a TV star, but society has changed and he’s gotten more egregious in his comments and he’s going to find when he’s done with this campaign that he can’t go home again,” Howard Bragman, chairman and founder of Fifteen Minutes Public Relations, told TheWrap.

Why Gay Movie Stars Are Staying Locked in the Closet

Why Gay Movie Stars Are Staying Locked in the Closet
There’s a vast and growing list of prominent gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender media and entertainment figures — just don’t count movie stars among them.

Celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Caitlyn Jenner and Neil Patrick Harris have kicked open the closet door with little to no damage to their careers. In some cases, they’ve found themselves more in demand after revealing their sexual preferences or gender identification.

Yet there’s one glass ceiling that remains stubbornly resistant to cracks.

No A-list film actor has yet to come out publicly while at the pinnacle of his or her career. Sure, Jodie Foster gave an elliptical Golden Globes speech about being a lesbian, and out actors Ian McKellen and Zachary Quinto helped anchor the “X-Men” and “Lord of the Rings” series, and the rebooted “Star Trek” films, respectively. Yet despite their prodigious talents, none of them has the power to

SXSW Film Review: ‘Out to Win’

SXSW Film Review: ‘Out to Win’
In the year since Michael Sam came out, the subject of homosexuality in professional sports has tipped from institutional taboo to high-profile talking point, but what use is a documentary that recaps everything audiences already know on the issue? So few high-profile athletes have come out over the years that the stories of those who’ve been open about their sexuality feel like old news. Those testimonies, mostly viewed far in the rearview mirror, make up most of Malcolm Ingram’s “Out to Win,” a tired treatment of a timely topic from the indie helmer whose “Small Town Gay Bar” did so much more to personalize the contemporary Lgbt experience in America. Just one of several forthcoming docus determined to tackle a subject already discussed ad nauseam on-air, “Out to Win” lags far behind TV sports coverage in its production value, informational heft and emotional impact, but should score as a film-festival conversation starter.
