He made his duo piano debut with Jacques Fray at the Salle Pleyel in Paris. His American debut was at Carnegie Hall. With Fray, he had his own radio series for six years. He conducted and arranged for, and soloed on, radio, and he toured in "From Bach to Boogie Woogie" concert programs. During WW II, he directed a radio program for the US occupational army in Africa and Italy.
