Fans of Matt Damon should be very pleased with this latest IMAX one-sheet for Neill Blomkamp's Elysium. Everyone except Jimmy Kimmel of course, who would be no doubt visibly shaken by this much Damonage.

This is more like it. After the release of the first official trailer plus TV spot for 'District 9' director Neill Blomkamp's newest sci-fi fare 'Elysium' we were excited yet slightly disappointed also. Of course word was we hadn't seen the best yet by far and that certainly rings true when checking out this latest new official trailer from the project. The new trailer literally blows its predecessor away and gives us a much broader look at the movie which almost looks to be squeezing in every single piece of awesomeness from every top class sci-fi movie from years gone by. If Neill Blomkamp’s summer blockbuster, Elysium, wasn’t already on your radar, last night’s epic new trailer should definitely have had the desired effect for Sony.
The film sees Blomkamp make a very welcome return to the director’s chair following his 2009 directorial debut, District 9. And, needless to say, we’re very excited to see what he brings us next. "Elysium" already has sci-fi fans buzzing simply because it's the second film from "District 9" director Neill Blomkamp, but this new extended trailer should kick the excitement up even higher.
The epic-looking futuristic drama stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Alice Braga, Diego Luna and "District 9's" breakout actor Sharlto Copley in the story of a society divided into haves (who live on a Utopian space station) and have-nots (who remain down on Earth).
While "District 9" impressed audiences on a relatively limited $30 million budget, it'll be interesting to see what Blomkamp does with a budget reportedly three times that size. From the looks of this trailer, he may have outdone expectations.
He also has a high standard of quality to live up to. "District 9" is one of the rare sci-fi films to earn a Best Picture Oscar nomination. »
