Modern Family was a groundbreaking show with quirky characters and a unique mockumentary format that earned 22 Emmy Awards throughout its 11-season run. Season 9 marked a decline with repetitive storylines and a decline in viewership, while Season 10 had the worst ratings of the series. The show rebounded slightly in Season 11, focusing on new storylines but still satisfying loyal viewers, with several standout episodes in its finale season.
The best Modern Family seasons ranked brought viewers plenty of laughs and tears throughout its 11-season run. Airing on ABC from 2009 through 2020, Modern Family brought fans into the homes of Ed O'Neill's Jay Pritchett and his children and grandchildren. Set up in a mockumentary format, with the characters often talking to the cameras to either set up scenes or react to those that just ended, the show was like nothing else on television, finishing its run with 22 Emmy Awards out of 75 nominations.

The Fallout's ending highlights the lasting impact of trauma from school shootings, showing recovery is far from linear. Director Megan Park deliberately ends the film ambiguously to reflect the ongoing issue of school violence and trauma recovery. Vada's journey in The Fallout emphasizes that healing from trauma is a complex process that can never fully erase painful memories.
The Fallout ending is notably devastating as the film is an emotional drama dealing with the aftermath of a school shooting. The Fallout follows survivor Vada (Jenna Ortega), and her struggle to overcome trauma. The Fallout ends with a tragic reminder that such emotional wounds can never truly be overcome when acts of mass violence remain common. Written and directed by Megan Park, The Fallout has received acclaim for its writing and direction and a cast of talented young actors, headlined by Ortega.

Stars of TV shows often step in to direct episodes, showcasing their talent and understanding of the show's dynamics. Talented actors-turned-directors like Bryan Cranston, Neil Patrick Harris, and Hugh Laurie excel at capturing emotional moments on screen. Directing requires a different set of skills, but experienced actors like Julie Bowen and Ellen Pompeo successfully wear both hats in TV shows.
Actors on TV are incredibly talented artists capable of creating a visceral character, but some actors take their talents further, opting to get behind the camera as well and try their hand at directing. It takes a huge team to put together most shows, with multiple writers, cast, crew, and countless other creatives in place just to get some footage recorded, then editors, musicians, and many more step in to enhance the project. And for the most part, these different skills each require a great deal of experience to deliver.

Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Ed O’Neill, Sofía Vergara, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson bantered about what they have been up to after the series ended.
But there was a more serious purpose in the appearance for at least one cast member. Jesse Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett on the sitcom, said during a Friday appearance on The Tonight Show that he talked Ty Burrell into attending the ceremony to ward off rumors among fans who thought he’d died.
“Honestly, on that night, we were all busy,” Ferguson explained about their SAG reunion. “Sofia Vergara was supposed to be doing press, I was supposed to be here in New York, Julie Bowen was shooting a show, Ed O’Neill had a glass of wine to drink.

It's not uncommon for fans to get invested in a new, interesting TV show, only for the series to go off the rails during its run. While this has happened to programs like Riverdale, Game of Thrones, and Prison Break, which all went downhill to varying degrees, a few great TV shows have never suffered from a bad season.
With masterful writers, talented actors, and consistently strong storylines, some TV series have maintained their high quality through multiple seasons. Popular and iconic shows like Breaking Bad and Friends kept fans interested through every episode. The likes of The Simpsons were so close to maintaining a perfect legacy only to be tarnished by a few of their many and more recent seasons.

DeDe Pritchett's death in Modern Family was a shocking development that left viewers emotional and showcased the show's ability to tackle heavy storylines. Killing off DeDe allowed the main characters to explore new emotional territory and work through their complicated feelings about her. DeDe's death episode was particularly moving because it highlighted the importance of love, support, and being there for each other, even during difficult times.
DeDe Pritchett (Shelley Long) wasn't always a fan-favorite character on Modern Family, but her season 10 death was a shock — though not one that happened without reason. Sofia Vergara is opening up about a Modern Family reboot and is seemingly not ready for a comeback just yet.
While making an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the Colombian star was asked about a possible reunion after she shared a picture on social media with her former co-stars ahead of the holidays in November.
“No, it’s only been four years,” Vergara told Fallon when asked if it was time for a reboot.
Fallon followed up, asking how long they would have to wait for a reboot, to which Vergara said, “I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem right. I feel like we need a little bit more time.”
“Well, we don’t have much time because Ed [O’Neill] is old,” Vergara joked.

An alligator expert discredits the famous alligator fight scene in Happy Gilmore, stating that there is no reality involved, and it is not something you should do in real life. Happy Gilmore received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success, grossing $41.2 million worldwide against a budget of $12 million. Despite the unrealistic scenes, Happy Gilmore remains beloved and is considered one of Adam Sandler's better-received comedies, thanks to his compelling performance.
Adam Sandler’s famous alligator fight scene in the 1996 sports comedy movie Happy Gilmore gets brutally analyzed by a real-life animal expert. Phil's parenting skills are tested by his outgoing kids, but he always finds a way to create memorable moments with his family. Phil is a wacky but earnest character, known for his hair-brained schemes and romantic gestures. Phil's relationship with his father-in-law Jay evolves from tense to a place of bonding and mutual respect.
There are a select number of Modern Family episodes that highlight how Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) is a goofy inventor, an overeager planner, and a fiercely dedicated husband and father. Phil thinks of himself as the "cool parent," contrasting with his uptight wife Claire (Julie Bowen). Their parenting skills are tested by their three vastly different children: social Haley (Sarah Hyland), studious Alex (Ariel Winter), and adventurous Luke (Nolan Gould).
The episodes that best sum up Phil are the ones that focus on his relationships with his family, as well as a few that show his hairbrainiest schemes.
