Shonda Rhimes stepped up to the podium at Saturday’s Baby2Baby gala in Culver City to introduce the evening’s honoree, her friend and “Scandal” star, Kerry Washington.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for the news that someone aside from my sisters was going to have a baby than I was when Kerry Washington told me she was pregnant,” Rhimes said. In 2014, Washington gave birth to a daughter, Isabelle. “We were in her trailer, and I think I danced. Or maybe I jumped up and down, but whatever I did, her trailer was rocking.”

The showrunner praised the actress, who received the Giving Tree Award for her work with Baby2Baby, a non-profit foundation that provides children with basic necessities. “Kerry is changing the lives of children in general. As many as she can. Which may sound ambitious, but if you think that, you don’t know Kerry. »

Modern Family: Season Seven Ratings

24 September 2015 1:19 PM, PDT | | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last season, once again, Modern Family saw a dip in the ratings, but it remained ABC's top-rated TV series in the coveted demo. There's essentially no chance that it will be cancelled but, will the ratings continue to slide this year? Stay tuned.

Modern Family revolves around three Los Angeles families who are interrelated through Jay Pritchett and his two adult children. The ensemble cast is Ed O'Neill, Sofía Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Jeremy Maguire, and Brigitte the French bulldog.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to »

Emmy Fashion: Chains, Asymmetric Looks and Pants Rule the Red Carpet

20 September 2015 7:14 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Two fashion-forward lead actress nominees, Claire Danes and Taraji P. Henson, had a similar idea in mind for their 67th Emmy Awards looks: chains. Fashion darling Danes, a two-time Emmy winner for “Homeland,” chose a shimmering pink and black Prada dress with chained straps. Henson, known for her provocative outfits on “Empire,” opted for a black custom Alexander Wang with cutouts and similarly chained shoulder straps.

In spite of the heat, black was a popular choice for stars from Julie Bowen to Julia Louis-Dreyfus to Lady Gaga, who picked gowns that put a spin on the otherwise basic color with asymmetric designs. While Bowen’s custom Georges Chakra Couture boasted artsy shoulder cutouts, Louis-Dreyfus showed more skin in SAFiYAA’s black one-shoulder crepe Clementine gown, and Gaga opted for a similarly one-shouldered style.
