Over the last few days, the cast of the beloved show has been speaking out about the end date announcement.
The latest to speak out is Jaime Pressly, who has played Jill Kendall since Mom Season 2.
"I had the great fortune of being asked to join a show called @mom_cbs in its second season 7 years ago," the actress wrote on Instagram, adding that she didn't know of the series beforehand.
"But I knew with Chuck Lorre at the helm and @allisonbjanney and @annafaris as the leads it must be something special. So I jumped in head first not knowing what I was in for. Regency TV president Peter Aronson is putting on his old writer-producer hat. Aronson, who executive produced the WB Network's comedy Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane before he was tapped to head Regency TV in 2000, will step down to take the reins of The Bernie Mac Show, the Regency TV/20th Century Fox TV comedy, as executive producer/showrunner for Fox. He will replace Michael Borkow, who was let go after four months on the job (HR 9/10). Until Regency TV -- a joint venture of Arnon Milchan's New Regency Enterprises and Fox Television Studios -- finds a replacement for Aronson, Fox TV Studios president David Grant will take more hands-on oversight of the company.

Malcolm in the Middle co-executive producer Michael Borkow has been tapped as executive producer/showrunner on another edgy Fox family comedy, The Bernie Mac Show, as part of an overall deal struck with Bernie Mac producers Regency TV/20th Century Fox TV. Borkow takes the reins from Bernie Mac creator/executive producer Larry Wilmore, who left the show in March (HR 3/12). The Peabody Award-winning series, starring comedian Bernie Mac, is set to return for a third season this fall in its original Wednesday 9 p.m. time slot. Meanwhile, Twentieth Television said Tuesday that Bernie Mac has been sold to stations covering 30% of the country for the show's syndication launch in fall 2005. Stations buying rerun rights include Fox-owned outlets in New York and Los Angeles, as well as the indie WCIU-TV Chicago. In an effort to bolster the production team for the upcoming season, Borkow has recruited Saladin Patterson (NBC's Frasier) and Rich Appel (NBC's A.U.S.A.) as well as John Riggi (CBS' Charlie Lawrence) as co-executive producers on the show. The three will join co-executive producer Warren Hutcherson and Mac, who has been upped from a producer.
