Cher, 71-Year-Old Legend, Has a Body You Need to See to Believe

21 May 2017 8:27 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Cher made a triumphant return to the stage at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Not only did the 71-year-old music icon belt out her hits "Believe" and "If I Could Turn Back Time," but it marked her first award show performance in over 15 years. Cher, who gave us major flashbacks in two legendary looks, was also honored with the icon award, joining the ranks of past recipients, including Prince, Jennifer Lopez, and Celine Dion, who brought the tears with "My Heart Will Go On." During her acceptance speech, Cher thanked her mom and ex-husband Sonny Bono for believing in her, adding, "There was really nothing about me that led anyone to believe that I was going to be special." She also credited her success to luck, though we're having a hard time believing that. RelatedAnnouncing the Winners of the 2017 Billboard Music Awards! »

18 May 2017 11:08 AM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Cher isn't always proud of her incredible career.

The 70-year-old legend sat down with Billboard magazine for a revealing interview, in which she talks about some of her greatest hits. It turns out Cher herself doesn't love a lot of her music.

"I'm not a Cher fan," Cher says bluntly, revealing that she felt ashamed of her pop songs in the '70s -- like "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves," "Half-Breed" and "Dark Lady" -- and instead wanted to sound more like Joni Mitchell or the Eagles. “I just don’t think my aesthetic taste lies in her direction."

Getting more specific, she calls her 1995 album, It's a Man's World, "crap."

"I don't remember what's on it -- I didn't like any of it," she shares.

Cher is similarly harsh when it comes to the biggest hit of her career -- 1999's "Believe" -- and »

Cher is putting her family first.

The 70-year-old actress worried fans after dropping out of her upcoming Lifetime movie due to a "serious family issue," though a source tells Et that the icon is in good health. Instead, Cher's inability to commit to the film stems from her concern for her mother Georgia Holt's "fragile" state.

Exclusive: Cher on Outlasting Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez: 'I Was Doing Vegas When They Were in Rompers'

1 March 2017 6:20 PM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Cher has no reason to "turn back time" -- the iconic singer is still killing it!

Et's Nancy O'Dell sat down with Cher in Los Angeles on Tuesday, where she opened up about the next generation of singers, and why she's still got it, five decades after she hit it big with Sonny.

Exclusive: Cher Says It Will Take a 'Special Person' to Be the Next 'Mr. Cher'

"I really think it's the genes, because I haven't had to take my keys down," the 70-year-old singer explained. "That's the most impressive thing for me that I have ever done, because it's hard to hit the notes, you know? It's hard to hit the notes and when you get to -- it's like, I feel like I'm going to be the Tony Bennett of my generation."

Cher is definitely one of a kind, still performing flawlessly night after night at her residency, Classic Cher at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas, and at the MGM National Harbor in the D.C. area. As for whether the legend has been offered any advice by Jennifer Lopez or Britney Spears, who have current Vegas residencies, Cher simply says she doesn't need it. »

Exclusive: Cher Says It Will Take a 'Special Person' to Be the Next 'Mr. Cher'

Cher still believes in finding love, as Et found out in a recent sit-down with the superstar, but the lucky guy to court her has to have certain qualities.

"It takes kind of a special person," the 70-year-old music icon tells Et's Nancy O'Dell. "There are few people. It kind of cuts the herd down, because people are a little bit frightened about being Mr. Cher. It takes a certain kind of guy."

Whoever that "certain kind of guy" turns out to be would have to contend with Cher's busy schedule. Five decades into her career, the singer is still in high demand with a residency at the Park Theater at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas and shows later this month.

At an age where most people think about retirement, Cher seems far »
