Happy Birthday Cher! Here Are Her 20 Greatest Songs

20 May 2014 7:50 AM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Cher. What more needs to be said?

She’s the icon of icons, and her list of accomplishments would take forever to list. So on her 68th birthday, let’s pick the best of the best of her immense music catalog. For the purposes of this post, let’s keep it to Cher as a solo artist, and remember …

After The Nuclear Holocaust, The Only Things That Will Remain Are Cockroaches … And This List.

20. Carousel Man

Year: 1973

Album: Half Breed

Chart Peak: N/A

When the album Half Breed came out in 1973, it represented a bit of a comeback after two previous chart disappointments, thanks to the #1 title song (which we’ll be seeing later), which makes it curious why the second and final single “Carousel Man” was only released as a promo to radio DJ’s, and therefore failed to chart on the Hot 100. It remains memorable thanks to that bizarre merry-go-round hook. »

Office Space Screening at Schlafly Bottleworks March 28th

19 March 2014 7:48 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

“Looks like you have a bad case of the Mondays”

“If they movie my desk again I’m quitting”

“I’m going to need you to come in on Saturday, and also come in on Sunday too”

“Are you related to the Michael Bolton?”

There are so many famous quotes from Office Space!

If you are working for a big company, especially if you are in software business, you will find yourself in Office Space, an irreverent comedy from 1999 starring Ron Livingston and Jennifer Aniston that makes fun of the inanities of work–particularly in a cubicle-ed office where the bosses are morons (not that any of us have ever worked in such an environment, mind you). The film is made up of lots of odd but relatable personalities and the characters are all funny and memorable. The story centers around Peter Gibbons, an office drone who is very fed »

Glee, Ep. 5.10, “Trio” has fans asking why

8 March 2014 7:18 AM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Glee, Season 5, Episode 10, “Trio“

Written by Rivka Sophia Rossi

Directed by Ian Brennan

Airs Tuesday 8pm Et on Fox

Glee‘s “Trio” leaves fans asking question after question. This is clearly a filler episode with just a few little bits of foreshadowing sprinkled in. Perhaps the writers and producers are beginning to regret extending McKinley’s school year across multiple seasons. Here are just some of questions we’ve been asking ourselves:

Why doesn’t Sue fire Will and Emma after a student walked in on them having sex in the bathroom? If you shuddered at the all too graphic details Emma and Will felt should be shared, you were amongst friends. That scene, only complete with Sue waxing poetical about Michael Bolton’s… umm… musical abilities, goes on for far too long.

Why did they wait so long to do the iconic Breakfast Club song?   “Don’t You Forget »

The Voice battles: Nathan vs Christina Marie - Who knows Ricky best?

1 March 2014 4:00 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

We were convinced we'd found a way to predict the results of this weekend's Voice battles - by putting some of the duos head to head to test their knowledge of their mentors - but Team Tom and Team Will ended in a dead heat, and Team Kylie were separated by just a measly half point. In other words, we're not talking particularly convincing results. But hey, maybe Team Ricky will give us some clearer answers? We called up Nathan Amzi and Christina Marie, so read on to find out who knows more about Ricky - and then what they had to say about tonight's head to head...

Fighting Talk - we're going to test you on your knowledge of Ricky.

Nathan: "Okay! Yeah!"

Christina: "Oh my goodness, this is going to be so bad! Okay..."

You're Old: 'Office Space' Came Out 15 Years Ago This Week

19 February 2014 6:00 PM, PST | | See recent news »

So, what's happening? Yeah, listen, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and face your own mortality. If you could just acknowledge that Office Space came out 15 years ago this week, and that this means You're Old? That'd be great, thanks. Office Space isn't just a cult classic, it might be the quintessential cult classic of the '90s. Look at the criteria: it had origins in something cool and offbeat (the "Milton" animated shorts had played on MTV's Liquid Television and later Saturday Night Live); it tanked in theaters but found an audience through TV and home video; and it's now frequently quoted and referenced by people who may not have actually watched it in years. Red staplers, Tps reports, and that no-talent ass-clown Michael Bolton know...
