Florinda Bolkan was born on February 15, 1941 in Uruburetama, Ceará, Brazil as Florinda Soares Bulcão. She is an actress and director, known for Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion (1970), Don't Torture a Duckling (1972) and A Brief Vacation (1973).

Formerly a Flight Inspector for VARIG. Brazil's national airline. She is fluent in Portuguese, English, Italian and French. Lived for some time in New York with Helmut Berger, but strictly as friends to share one of two apartment rents.
Was one of the judges in the Miss Universe pageant in 1976.
Born in Brazil, she had a successful career in Italian cinema but in Brazil she worked only three time during her long career: appearing in a soap opera (A Rainha da Vida (1987), a film (Bela Donna (1998) and acting and directing in another film (I Didn't Know Tururu (2000)).
Daughter of José Pedro and Maria Hosana. Her father died when Florinda was very young and her mother remarried.
Younger sister of Alina and José Maria and older half-sister of Odete and Sonia Ribeiro.
She had an 18-year affair with producer Marina Cicogna.
