Dimitris Bogiantzis

Born in Athens Greece, Dimitris Bogiantzis fell in
love with filmmaking at the young age of 16 whilst working as an
electrician on a feature film. He continued to work as an electrician
for the next few years until he joined the Greek Union at the age of
21. Following this he spent the next twelve years work passionately as
a gaffer and later as a Lighting Director on numerous films, TV shows
and Commercials. Still unfulfilled, Dimitris wanted to discover new
ways to tell stories through lighting. In 1995 this passion brought him
to Los Angeles where he would continue his career as a Gaffer and later
as a Cinematographer. Some of Dimitris' many credits include "Black
Butterfly" (Greek TV series),"The Confession," produced by Ryan
Halderian, , "The Achievers," directed by Abraham Lim, "Suripanta"
directed by David Rodriguez, and "A Different Tune" directed by Amanda
Marie Campbell. Dimitris' works as a gaffer have won many awards, such
films as "Landscape in the Mist" which won the Silver Lion award at the
Venice International Film Festival; "First Daughter" which won the
Artistic Achievement in Cinematography Award as well as the 2000 ICG
Film Showcase award and "Life Gradual Improvement" which took the Best
Cinematography Award, Drama Short Film International Festival, 1991 -
Greece. Dimitris Bogiantzis for the last four years was working as a
Gaffer and B Camera operator on original TV movies for the Hallmark and
Lifetime Channel. At the present Dimitris is continuing his career as a
Cinematographer with a feature film "Rock and Roll" the movie Directed
by Darren Dowler. Along with being engaged to Sherilyn Stetz he counts
the birth of his two children twins Panos and Marika, as his most
precious moment.
