"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar has joined the voice cast of Disney Xd's "Star Wars: Rebels" for its second season which is currently in production. The series recently wrapped its first season.
Details on which character Gellar will voice are being kept under wraps, but it is said to be pivotal. She'll join a cast that includes Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, Taylor Gray and David Oyelowo. [Source: The Live Feed]
Billy Lynn's Halftime Walk
Steve Martin is set to join the cast of the Ang Lee-directed "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" for TriStar Pictures. Joe Alwyn is set as the title character and Garrett Hedlund is in line for another key role in the project which begins shooting next month.
An adaptation of the Ben Fountain novel, the story follows a 19-year-old private who survives a harrowing Iraq battle that is captured by news cameras. »

Sarah Michelle Gellar, best known for kicking butt as the title character in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” will join the voice cast of Disney Xd’s “Star Wars Rebels” in a recurring role for season two, Disney announced Tuesday.
“Star Wars Rebels” takes place between episodes III and IV of the blockbuster space saga, and follows the ragtag crew of the starship Ghost as they attempt to evade the growing Empire and its agents. In season two, the series will feature recurring appearances by fan-favorite characters including Darth Vader and Ahsoka Tano. The show reached more than 49 million viewers in its first season.
“We’re thrilled to have Sarah Michelle Gellar on board for season two,” said executive producer and supervising director Dave Filoni. “She is a true ‘Star Wars Rebels’ fan, and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice recording sessions.” Details on Gellar’s role have yet to be announced. »
