Mark Hamill Teases Daisy Ridley's Jedi Training in 'Star Wars 8' Set Photo

11 April 2016 7:25 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Luke is the Master now! And when it comes to Rey, he's going to ride her pretty hard. While it hasn't been revealed that Rey is Luke's Padawan learner in Star Wars: Episode VIII, actor Mark Hamill is teasing the intense character relationship between these two in a new photo from outside the Star Wars: Episode VIII set. And it's obvious the pair are having quite a lot of fun.

A few days ago, Mark Hamill promised he'd be sharing a special Jedi treat in honor of co-star Daisy Ridley's birthday. Unlike his cute joke on April Fools' Day, he came through like a champ with a photo that is sure to put a smile on your face. And it's amazing the way he's able to visually transform himself into Yoda's doppleganger without any make-up or CGI effects. You can see the image below, which Mark Hamill shared on his Twitter page. »

‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Director Rian Johnson Hit With Lawsuit by Former Agent

18 March 2016 6:55 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Star Wars: Episode VIII” writer and director Rian Johnson has been sued by his former agent Brian Dreyfuss for a breach of contract. Dreyfuss is claiming that Johnson still owes him 10 percent commission for his “Star Wars” check.

The lawsuit states that Dreyfuss had arranged a meeting between Johnson and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy back in 2012. The suit also states that Johnson wasn’t interested in taking on any project with the company at the time. Although Dreyfuss was fired by Johnson in 2014, a full year before he was signed on to direct “Star Wars: Episode VIII,” his former agent claims that he was cut out of contracts and negotiations. Dreyfuss also claims that Johnson owes him commissions on some of his previous films, like “Looper.”

Producer Ram Bergman, who Dreyfuss says “orchestrated much of Johnson’s business life,” is also a defendant in the lawsuit.

Johnson’s reps could not be reached for comment. »

Mark Hamill Shares Selfie from 'Star Wars 8' Set

Now that we've all seen Luke Skywalker at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, actor Mark Hamill no longer has to keep himself hidden. Today, he's posted a selfie direct from the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII, showing off his bearded look along with the official working title logo Star Wars: Space Bear. He claims to have a first look at one of the new aliens in this impending sequel. But alas, it's only his daughter's dog.

Carrie Fisher revealed a similar photo from the Star Wars: Episode VIII set last week. Showing off her dog Gary Fisher, the iconic actress revealed the secret working title of the movie and its unique logo. It's unclear if Carrie Fisher did this on accident, but now that the bear is out of the bag, so to speak, it seems that other cast members aren't shying away from showing off the secretive title. »

Production on Star Wars: Episode VIII has officially begun, as a new - and spoiler-y - video confirms. Plus! Laura Dern's among the cast...

Nb: The following video contains a major spoiler for Star Wars: The Force Awakens if you haven't seen it yet. Be warned!

Production on Star Wars: Episode VIII has officially begun. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, it will follow hot on the heels of The Force Awakens' dramatic conclusion - or that's what we're taking from the announcement promo below, which takes the unusual step of showing the setting from that film's final scene.
