Peter Bergman was born on November 29, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA as Peter Paul Bergman. He was an actor and writer, known for Americathon (1979), J-Men Forever (1979) and Pyst (1996). He was married to Maryedith Burrell. He died on March 9, 2012 in Santa Monica, California, USA.

Member of the Firesign Theatre
He was one of two children of Oscar Bergman and Rita Bergman. His parents hosted a radio show in Cleveland called "Breakfast with the Bergmans." His father was also a reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer in Cleveland, Ohio.
He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He taught economics there as a Carnegie Fellow. He later attended Yale School of Drama as a Eugene O'Neill playwriting fellow. He moved to Los Angeles, California in the 1960s to pursue a writing career.
He is survived by his daughter, Lily Oscar Bergman and sister, Wendy Bergman Kleckner.
