Who's your Daddy? Freeform has renewed its hit Baby Daddy TV show for a sixth season, which will bring the sitcom to 100 episodes. Executive Vice President of Programming and Development, Karey Burke announced the news in a press release.

The Baby Daddy TV series cast includes: Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry, Melissa Peterman, and Chelsea Kane. Created and executive-produced by Dan Berendsen, the multi-cam comedy shoots in front of a live studio audience

Freeform Renews ‘Baby Daddy’ for Season 6

Freeform has renewed comedy series “Baby Daddy” for a sixth season, the network announced Monday. The renewal will carry the show past the 100-episode mark.

Baby Daddy” has a been a sturdy ratings performer with Freeform’s young-skewing audience. The June 15 episode was the sixth most watched original cable scripted series among viewers 18-34, drawing 351,000 in Nielsen live-plus-three numbers. The series airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. Et on Freeform.

“The lines between family and friends are so wonderfully crossed in ‘Baby Daddy.’ You can always count on the Wheeler clan for a big laugh along with heartfelt moments,” said Karey Burke, executive vice president, programming and development, Freeform.

Filmed in Los Angeles, “Baby Daddy” is created and executive produced by Dan Berendsen (“The Nine Lives of Chloe King,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” and “Hannah Montana: The Movie”). The series stars ” stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler and Tahj Mowry with Melissa Peterman and Chelsea Kane.

Disney is using one of its mobile apps to host an open casting call for “High School Musical 4.” Also in today’s news round-up, Syfy will have a live telecast from Comic-Con this summer.

Casting:

Disney will hold an open casting call for “High School Musical 4” via its Disney Applause mobile app. From April 18 to May 2, interested actors, singers and dancers between ages 14 and 17 can use the app to participate in video auditions.

Directed and choreographed by Jeffrey Hornaday (“Teen Beach,” “Teen Beach 2”), the fourth installment in the “High School Musical” franchise will introduce a new cohort of East High Wildcats. Dan Berendsen and Peter Barsocchini will write the screenplay.

Take heed, Wildcats! High School Musical is on its way back to the Disney Channel, after the House of Mouse officially confirmed that plans were underway to revive the dormant TV movie series.

As the first mainline installment in almost a decade, Disney is aiming for a total overhaul ahead of High School Musical 4, and it’s understood the company is already on the hunt for a new cast ahead of its planned return to East High. Disney Channel has officially begun a nationwide casting search for "High School Musical 4," a long-rumored next installment in the successful movie series.

The franchise launched the careers of the likes of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, but this fourth film will center on a new group of students at East High, as well as their crosstown rivals the West High Knights.

Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the series, The Disney Channel has announced that it is reviving High School Musical, with a nationwide casting search now underway for High School Musical 4.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Jeffrey Hornaday (Teen Beach Movie) will direct and choreograph the film from a script by Dan Berendsen (Baby Daddy) and Peter Barsocchini, who penned all three of the original movies.

High School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA,” states Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide. “It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce ‘the start of something new’ – as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise.”
