Belko Experiment Red Band Clip Shows a Bloody Office Massacre
With the March 17 release date fast approaching, Blumhouse Tilt has released another new clip for the sadistic thriller The Belko Experiment, which offers a bloody look at the gruesome workplace violence. This clip in particular features a glimpse at Sean Gunn's Marty Espenscheid trying to come to grips with everything happening around him, telling himself that it's "all in my mind." Unfortunately for him, that isn't exactly what's happening, in this clip that not only features some new footage, but also a few quotes from the nation's critics.

Blumhouse Tilt debuted this clip on YouTube, which also features Abraham Benrubi as Chet Valincourt, who begs Marty to "get down" under one of the tables like he is positioned. Unfortunately for Chet and Marty, it doesn't matter if they're taking cover or not, since, one by one, these employees' heads start exploding. Trying to rationalize the sights and sounds around him,

Belko Experiment Trailer #3 Puts a Twisted Spin on Office Politics
It's only been a few weeks since the second Belko Experiment trailer debuted, but Blumhouse Tilt apparently didn't want to make fans wait too long for the next sneak peek. The studio released the third trailer, which includes a new scene where a few Belko employees Keith (Josh Brener), Leota (Gail Bean) and Dany (Melonie Diaz) catch three of their co-workers, Marty (Sean Gunn), Leono (Adria Arjona) and Chet (Abraham Benrubi), smoking weed. Leota thinks they're "insane" for smoking at Belko, since drug tests will surely be coming. But that is going to be the least of their problems.

The trailer, which debuted on the Blumhouse Tilt YouTube channel, also features a cryptic line where Marty asks Leota if she happened to "read what you signed when you started working for this place?" While Marty never does say what was in the employee contract, it's possible that these employees have

Belko Experiment Poster Turns Office Supplies Into a Deadly Weapon
Last month, fans got their first real look at The Belko Experiment, the terrifying new workplace thriller which comes from writer James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), with a new red band trailer. While we wait for the next batch of footage to come through, Blumhouse Tilt has dropped the first poster, which teases some of the mayhem that's in store for the fans. The one-sheet even includes a critic's quote, which claims this movie is, "Office Space meets Battle Royale."

The poster was unveiled on Twitter earlier today, showing an unspecified office employee using a bulky tape dispenser to bludgeon one of his co-workers to death. This is not the story of one crazed employee going on an office-wide rampage, but something far more sinister entirely. On what appears to be a normal day at Belko Industries, Belko employees are horrified when they

‘The Belko Experiment’ Begins in First Red Band Trailer for James Gunn-Scripted Thriller

Before he kicks off next year’s summer movie season with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, another serving of James Gunn will be arriving in theaters a few months prior. The Belko Experiment, directed by Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), is scripted and produced by the Slither director and follows a social experiment that turns deadly. Ahead of a March release the first red band trailer, which sets up the horrific scenario with the wit one might expect from Gunn and company.

We said in our Tiff review, “Yet the problem comes with tone. Having been scripted by James Gunn and helmed by Wolf Creek director Greg McClean — remember, the 2005 Australian outback thriller bundled into the torture-porn wave? — there’s something of a tangible dissonance. The grisly grindhouse requirements may be met, but one can’t help but think, if done by Troma veteran Gunn (not known by anyone as

First Look at James Gunn's The Belko Experiment

First Look at James Gunn's The Belko Experiment
Last year, while filmmaker James Gunn was working on the script for his new superhero sequel Guardians of the Galaxy 2, he was also sharing updates on a new film he had written and will produce, entitled The Belko Experiment. The filmmaker revealed that the idea for this story came to him in a dream, and he spent the next two weeks hammering out the script. In March, Australian director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek) came aboard to direct, with production taking place last summer, but we haven't heard anything about the project since then. Earlier today, the Toronto International Film Festival announced that The Belko Experiment will have its world premiere as part of the Midnight Madness section, while the first photos and plot details were unveiled.

The director revealed that after MGM president Jonathan Glickman wanted to make the film, he had to promise to stay true to the

Movie Review – The Finest Hours (2016)

The Finest Hours, 2016.

Directed by Craig Gillespie.

Starring Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, Kyle Gallner, John Magaro, Graham McTavish, Michael Raymond-James, Beau Knapp, Josh Stewart, Abraham Benrubi, and Eric Bana.

Synopsis:

The Coast Guard makes a daring rescue attempt off the coast of Cape Cod after a pair of oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard in 1952.

The aggrandizing and melodramatic delivery of The Finest Hours will surely put some viewers off, but there’s no denying that the period piece, dramatic recounting of what the film describes as “The most daring rescue in U.S. Coast Guard history” is pulled off with elegance and grace. One of cinema’s greatest abilities is the power to transport us to different times and places, and while that is successfully captured here (whether it be with 1950s wardrobes or vehicles), it is the personality of the characters

Film Review: ‘The Finest Hours’

Film Review: ‘The Finest Hours’
The Finest Hours” tells the story of a little-known yet fairly incredible 1950s rescue mission, in which a four-man band of Coast Guard troops went above and beyond the call of duty, steering out into impossible sea conditions in the dead of night to reach a crippled oil tanker. So perhaps the worst one could say about Craig Gillespie’s film is that, rather than their finest hours, the whole cast and crew all put in a solid shift at the office making the movie, producing a perfectly entertaining, sometimes quite well-crafted disaster drama that nonetheless retreats from the memory almost as soon as the credits roll. The disappointing returns for Ron Howard’s recent seafaring saga “In the Heart of the Sea” should give the producers pause, but the film certainly offers enough to provide a modest-sized audience with some respite from the horrors of the January multiplex.

Like “The Perfect Storm,

Chris Pine Dives Into The Deep Blue In Intense Trailer For The Finest Hours

Left at the mercy of mother nature, in 1952 oil tanker SS Pendleton was left stricken off the eastern seaboard in the face of a fierce nor’easter, tossed about like a kite dancing in hurricane-force winds and 60-foot high waves. Such an intense storm lead to one of the most daring small boat rescues in coast guard history, and it’s little wonder why it hasn’t been projected onto the silver screen long before Craig Gillespie and The Finest Hours appeared on the horizon.

Nevertheless, with little over two weeks until release, Disney has debuted a new promo for the real-life maritime thriller, placing first assistant engineer Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) in the eye of the storm so to speak as the only senior officer on board. When disaster strikes, the crew quickly realize that they have three hours tops before the ravaged ship plunges to the depths of the North Atlantic,

'The Finest Hours' Set Visit Part 2 with Ben Foster and Kyle Gallner

'The Finest Hours' Set Visit Part 2 with Ben Foster and Kyle Gallner
Disney will continue box office domination with the January 29th release of The Finest Hours. It is the incredible true story of the U.S. Coast Guard's most dangerous sea rescue. The film is an adaptation of the best selling book by Michael J. Tougias and Casey Sherman. In the winter of 1952, a powerful nor'easter capsized the oil tankers, SS Pendleton and SS Fort Mercer, off the coast of Massachusetts. A group of intrepid sailors, led by Bernie Webber (Chris Pine), took a rescue boat into the storm.

Movieweb was invited to the set of The Finest Hours in Quincy, Massachusetts in November of 2014. The production was fairly secretive at this point. Apart from the title, which was obviously correlated to the book, I had no idea what to expect on this trip. What we saw that day was knock your socks off amazing, filmmaking on an epic scale.

The Finest Hours Featurette Spotlights The Real Heroes Of ’52

Braving hurricane-force winds and 60-foot high waves, earlier this week we got a peek at the fierce intensity that Craig Gillespie is bringing to real-life maritime drama The Finest Hours, but what of the real heroes that scrambled to save the survivors of the SS Pendleton in 1952?

Walt Disney Pictures has answered that question today with a new featurette for the Oscar hopeful, chronicling the unflinching bravery and courage displayed by the North Eastern coast guard who risked their lives in order to pluck the seaman from the bitter cold waters of the North Atlantic. Leading the charge is Chris Pine’s Captain Bernie Webber, who literally goes through Hell and high water in order to rescue first assistant engineer Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) and his trapped, frightened crew.

Assembling an impressive cast to hit the high seas, Gillespie has welcomed aboard Ben Foster, and Holliday Grainger, while the ensemble

Fierce New Trailer For The Finest Hours Depicts Danger At Sea

Based on the incredible true story is a phrase so often affixed to a hearty Oscar contender, and Craig Gillespie’s upcoming maritime thriller The Finest Hours is no different. As a matter of fact, in bumping Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book into April of next year, Disney steered Gillespie’s feature into the thick of awards season.

It’s by no means the only thriller of its kind competing for Oscar glory, though, with Ron Howard’s In the Heart of the Sea also eyeing Academy recognition, though rather than coming face-to-face with a sperm whale of colossal size, The Finest Hours reads like a more focused, real-life thriller, charting the phenomenal bravery of the North Eastern coast guard in 1952.

It was here that a fierce storm hit New England and ripped the SS Pendleton into two, scattering its crew into the bitter-cold waters of the North Atlantic.

Disney has dropped the first The Finest Hours trailer along with a batch of images and poster for the upcoming "based on a true story" action-thriller set for release January 29, 2016. On a small lifeboat faced with frigid temperatures and 70-foot high waves, four members of the Coast Guard set out to rescue the more than 30 stranded sailors trapped aboard the rapidly-sinking vessel.
