Horror Film ‘The Boy’ to Star The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan

23 January 2015 3:51 PM, PST | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

With their sinister smiles and dead-eyed stares, inanimate dolls are creepy, but they’re even more unsettling when brought to unnatural life. Filmmakers have long tapped into the scary potential of dolls, as evidenced by Child’s Play, Dolls, Annabelle, and many more. Now William Brent Bell is stepping into the sub-genre with The Boy, and The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan is set to star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene on AMC’s The Walking Dead) is taking on the lead role in The Boy, a horror-thriller that “centers on a nanny (Cohan) who is tasked with overseeing a lifelike doll by a bizarre couple who treat it as a real child. The couple use the doll as way to cope with the death of their young son, but the nanny becomes increasingly convinced that it is alive.”
