Arriving for the first time on Blu-ray courtesy of Olive Films is Wim Wenders’ 1997 existentialist take on the definition of violence and its depictions with The End of Violence. A film that was re-cut after its poor reception after playing at the Cannes Film Festival in competition, its underwhelming limited theatrical release did little to spark much interest in the title, though Wenders would receive an Indie Spirit Award nod as Best Director. Feeling very much like the type of philosophically overbaked yarns that we’ve come to see frequent the later period of Atom Egoyan, Wenders’ Hollywood metaphor exploring voyeuristic societal issues at large is trapped by its fascinations with its own ideas. On paper, it sounds intriguing, as we’re dealing with the provocative hypothesis that, at a base level, asserts the mere act of ‘looking’ or ‘seeing’ something will eventually render the necessity of violence to be obsolete. »

Florida’s Ft. Lauderdale Shock Pop Comic Con (running Feb. 13-15) already has a killer lineup for the convention, with everyone from Elvira, John Waters, Ralph Macchio, Fangoria Eic Chris Alexander and Friday The 13th director Sean Cunningham, to what is (in my opinion) going to be the highlight for horror fans attending the event: the first ever official reunion for A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’S Revenge. Robert Englund, Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Rusler, Marshall Bell, Clu, Jack Sholder, Davis Chaskin (writer), and JoAnn Willette are all appearing, making the event one not to miss, if you’re in the vicinity and can attend.
Freddy’S Revenge has always been my 2nd favorite film in the Elm St. series (second only to the first film), and how often do you get to see most of the cast and crew all together? You don’t, that’s the answer, »

Josh Gad held a Reddit Ama session yesterday for his new comedy The Wedding Ringer, in theaters next weekend, where he revealed that the Triplets script is done, but Universal apparently is contemplating whether or not to move forward with the follow-up.
"Uh, you know... the script is actually done. Everybody agrees that it's great. We wound up doing 2 drafts. Universal, I think, hit the pause button temporarily for whatever reason - internally I think they are trying to figure out if they want to do a sequel or not. I »
