Trivia:

Hosted the late 1950's afternoon showing of The 3 Stooges short subjects for WGN Television Channel 9 in Chicago. He portrayed the character of 'Andy Starr', venerable caretaker of the mythical 'Odeon Theatre'. At times he would also double in female impersonation as 'Mrs. Finstermacher, the owner of the Odeon. This predated his long-running success as Bozo the Clown, also on WGN.
