Anna Faris is dominating film stories today with the news that she is to star in two new comedies, one alongside Ryan Reynolds and the other with Robin Williams.
The House Bunny star will work with Reynolds in Tmi, a comedy script that has been acquired by Universal. Scripted by Kirsten Smith and Marc Klein, the film's premise is fairly vague but is said to centre around the concept that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, "too much information" might not be the best thing. Andrew Panay (Old Dogs) will produce with Jonathon Komack Martin, and Reynolds is acting as executive producer on the project.
Faris' other project is a romantic comedy for Touchstone called Wedding Banned. She will star alongside Williams, but before you start worrying that the mis-matched actors will be entwined in a lovers' tryst, we should mention that Faris is in line to play Williams' daughter (phew! »

Remember when Robin Williams used to go dramatic? He gave us beautiful performances in Good Will Hunting andDead Poets Society. Hell, I even dug Jakob the Liar. The dude seems to have a good sense of what it takes to dig down deep and pull out a tough performance, even if it doesn.t match up perfectly with his comedic persona. Well, with movies like Old Dogs, those days seem to be long gone. In his upcoming Wedding Banned, Robin Williams will play a husband who teams up with his ex-wife to kidnap their daughter and convince her not to get married. Sounds like a grand old time, right? Now THR reports that Anna Faris has signed on to play the bride-to-be. Jack Amiel and Michael Begler penned the script. These are the guys behind Raising Helen and The Shaggy Dog, so you know it.ll be good. After Observe »

Yes, you wait ages for an Anna Faris news story and then two come along at once. The actress will be starring opposite Robin Williams in Wedding Banned, which (unsurprisingly for Faris) is a rom-com but (surprisingly for Williams) sounds to have a mildly promising premise.Faris will play Williams' daughter, who he kidnaps on her wedding day, aided by his estranged ex-wife, so that the long-divorced couple can stop their daughter from making the same mistake that they did. But as the pair and their hostage try to avoid police and Faris' angry groom, the couple - you'll never guess - rekindle their old spark. And everyone learns a valuable lesson, we suppose. There's no director attached just yet, so much depends on who they find to take the reins. Jack Amiel and Michael Begler wrote the script, which we've got to hope is better than some of their previous efforts, »

For those who've wondered what happened to Page 2, it isn't gone. The last couple weeks have just been so slow that there isn't enough to fill up a Page 2 post. (It's the end of the summer; expect news to pick up in a couple weeks as the festival season kicks in.) So in the meantime enjoy these casting notes roundups. Today we've got news of Robin Williams and Maggie Grace joining new projects, after the break. First up, THR reports that Robin Williams will be part of a Touchstone romantic comedy called Wedding Banned, which I'm tempted to hate based on the title alone. There's no director yet for the film, which was written by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler. Film is about "a long-divorced couple who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day to prevent her from making the same mistakes they did. The divorced parents rekindle their »

It’s been just two short years since Robin Williams starred in the risible wedding comedy, Licence To Wed. But time is a great healer, and so he’s at it again, signing on to star in Disney’s wed-com, Wedding Banned. Let’s hope that the second marriage is better than the first. To be fair, this one has a decent premise. Williams will play a father who, along with his ex-wife, kidnaps his daughter on her wedding day so she won’t make a terrible mistake. Along the way, as they evade the cops and the angry groom, the divorcees gradually rekindle their own romance.Could be fun. Could be Licence To Wed 2. Although, given the track record of the writers – Jack Amiel and Michael Begler wrote The Shaggy Dog and Raising Helen, both comedies filed under ‘my eyes, my eyes, make it stop, my goddamn eyes’ – we »
