Robbie has been surrounded by props and set dressing for feature films and television for over 25 years. Engaged in a Masters Degree program in film at UNC-Chapel Hill, Robbie was lured to Wilmington, NC in 1985 by the nascent Dino DeLaurentiis Film Studio. Finding work as a set dresser on "King Kong Lives," Robbie then continued an art department apprenticeship under the watchful tutelage of Oscar nominated Set Decorator Hugh Scaife ("Barry Lyndon", "A Passage to India").
Having worked as a set dresser on films like the DeLaurentiis produced "From the Hip," Peter Bogdonovich's "Illegally Yours" and the critically acclaimed "Bull Durham," Beck graduated to lead man for the Touchstone Picture "Mr. Destiny" and 20th Century Fox's "29th Street" and found a further role in set dressing procurement for James Cameron's "The Abyss".
Having worked several films as a prop assistant, Beck's break into the role of Property Master came with the hit film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and continued with a string of popular films including "Betsy's Wedding," (Alan Alda, Joe Pesce, Katherine O'Hara"), "Empire Records," (Renee Zellweger, Liv Tyler) and "Heavy Weights" (Judd Apatow, Ben Stiller). Beck then worked a series of films by the side of two-time Oscar Winning Production Designer John Myhre, including "Foxfire," (Angelina Jolie), "Airborne" and his personal favorite "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" with Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio. Beck was tapped to assemble props for the highly successful "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood," (Sandra Bullock, Maggie Smith, Ellen Burstyn) and joined Oscar winning Production Designer Patrizia von Brandenstein for a stint on "Nights in Rodanthe" with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
His most recent film projects include "The Conjuring" and the first two seasons of the hit CBS Series "Under the Dome" as well as Nicolas Sparks' "The Choice".
