Steven Tyler not impressed by Mick Jagger's 'Saturday Night Live' impersonation

24 May 2012 2:07 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Mick Jagger certainly made an impression on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live" finale, not only hosting the show, but also performing with Foo Fighters, Jeff Beck, and Arcade Fire. One viewer, however -- Steven Tyler, of "American Idol" and (oh, yeah) Aerosmith fame -- was not particularly impressed.

Jagger impersonated Tyler in a skit about a new reality show, "So You Think You Can Dance at an Outdoor Music Festival," which poked fun at Tyler's "Idol" judging gig. "On loan from 'American Idol' and those weird Burger King commercials. We're lucky to have her," snarked Bill Hader's host character.

"Ohhh, they got it so wrong; He could have done the yeah yeah yeah!" Tyler told HollywoodLife at the "American Idol" finale on Wednesday night. Though Jagger may have missed out on Tyler's signature howl, he did wear a very Tyler-like rocker wig streaked with gray. "I thought »

Them Moves Like Jagger Lift Saturday Night Live

21 May 2012 10:49 AM, PDT | Studio Briefing - TV News | See recent Studio Briefing - TV News news »

Mick Jagger may have got some satisfaction – and a lot of laughs — from his performance as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, but he certainly got no satisfaction from learning that ratings for the show were down significantly from their average for the season. Nevertheless, it garnered bigger ratings than anything broadcast during primetime earlier in the night. It could not be determined if the lower ratings may have been related to the decision by some stations, reported by today’s (Monday) Los Angeles Times, to cut out of the program early after Jagger used a four-letter word while performing a number with guitarist Jeff Beck. The newspaper observed that stations are permitted to air such language between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. but that individual station managers can “use their discretion.” »

20 May 2012 3:46 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger did it all on the season finale of "Saturday Night Live." The rock legend not only hosted the show, but also put on four memorable musical performances, backed up by an impressive roster of friends that included Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters and Jeff Beck. He presided over Kristen Wiig's emotional sendoff and took a well-placed musical jab at Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's infamous prep-school hazing haircut incident.

Jagger rocked out to three classic Stones songs with Arcade Fire serving as his backup band, including a "She's A Rainbow/Ruby Tuesday" medley at the end of the show that served as a farewell homage to "SNL" star Kristen Wiig, who was celebrating her final "SNL" episode after a 7-year-run.

Mick Jagger and Jeff Beck perform political 'Tea Party' on 'Saturday Night Live'

20 May 2012 2:29 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Mick Jagger hosted "Saturday Night Live" Saturday night (May 19) and naturally, even though he was the host, he joined Arcade Fire for some musical performances as well. One of the performances consisted of "Tea Party," a blues number that featured a guitar solo from Jeff Beck.

Jagger said the song (warning: profanity in the video) was about this year's presidential race, saying this year's candidates "have to strategize a bit." The song was not censored by NBC - "SNL" airs during the safe harbor of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., which the Federal Communications Comissions has deemed an Ok time for broadcasters to air indecent material.

What did you think of the song, "SNL" fans? We can all at least agree the guitar solo was totally rockin', right? »

All year, SNL viewers have had one burning question on their minds. And tonight, we finally got an answer: So that is what Chris Kattan looks like now.

Oh, also: Kristen Wiig really is exiting the show. I hate to see her go, but loved watching her leave — that concluding sendoff sketch might have been the sweetest thing on Saturday Night Live since Steve Martin said goodbye to Gilda Radner.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. The Kristen Wiig Farewell Tour kicked off with a Lawrence Welk Show reprise that gave Wiig’s tiny-handed Dooneese one last time to shine (at least, »

Mid-way through a blistering two-hour set at the Bamboozle Festival, no doubt the 50,000 Foo Fighters fans in attendance were wondering aloud just how the heck the band was going to make it from Asbury Park, New Jersey to New York City where they were scheduled to perform on the Saturday Night Live finale. Recap: 'Saturday Night Live' - Mick Jagger

19 May 2012 10:31 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Here we are at the end of another season of “Saturday Night Live,” aka “the latest season that just proved for most people the show isn’t what it used to be, even though that particular version of the show only lives in selective, imperfect memory in the first place.” Pulling double duty tonight is host/musical guest Mick Jagger. Accompanying Jagger musically will be Jeff Beck, The Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire. That’s like “The Avengers” of guitar-based rock. And yes, I just saw “The Avengers” tonight for the second time, so I might accuse a lot of sketches tonight of lacking »

Mick Jagger Performs Presidential Election Song, References Romney’s Unfortunate Hair-Cutting Past

19 May 2012 10:09 PM, PDT | Mediaite - TV | See recent Mediaite - TV news »

Generally the last sketch of the evening is the weakest, but not so for the season finale, which featured Mick Jagger performing a blues number he had written about the upcoming presidential election, with Jeff Beck on guitar. The song briefly took on Mitt Romney ("you better not let him cut your hair," Jagger advised), but he switched gears in the second verse to wonder who's going to win the election in November. He played coy and didn't give a prediction, but he did say "shit" on network television, so I supposed everybody wins? »
