Over the past couple of weeks Ridley Scott has given us a peek behind-the-scenes of Alien: Covenant with production photos featuring Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender, and now it’s the turn of Danny McBride, who is joined by the legendary director on what we presume is the Covenant spacecraft.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien with Alien: Covenant, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

‘Alien: Covenant’: Noomi Rapace Reprising Role of Elizabeth Shaw

21 June 2016 9:28 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Since before it was even officially announced, the biggest question “Alien: Covenant” had xenomorph-obsessed fans asking is whether Noomi Rapace would be reprising her “Prometheus” role. Deadline is reporting that, despite it long being said that she would not, Rapace is on the “Covenant” set in Australia.

She’s there to shoot a week’s worth of scenes for the sequel (which, given the “Alien” series’ complicated chronology, is also a prequel). Also appearing in the film is Michael Fassbender — whose character David was long thought to be the only “Prometheus” character to return — as well as Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup. “Covenant” finds the crew of the eponymous ship (everyone other than Rapace and Fassbender, essentially) discovering a planet whose sole inhabitant is David, »

Ridley Scott And Danny McBride Feature In New Alien: Covenant Set Photo

21 June 2016 7:53 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Although Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant has already been in production for a while now, it was only yesterday that Noomi Rapace officially signed on to reprise her role of Elizabeth Shaw. She’ll be joining a cast that includes the returning Michael Fassbender and newcomers like Katherine Waterson, Billy Crudup, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride, who just so happens to be featured in a new set photo alongside Scott.

Like the last set photo we got, it doesn’t reveal anything significant, but at this stage in the production, we’re not expecting to be seeing a whole lot. We’ll likely get the first trailer in the Fall, maybe a bit sooner, but right now filming is still underway and the studio is not ready to let too much trickle out.

Noomi Rapace Returns For ‘Alien: Covenant’ as First Look at Danny McBride Arrives

21 June 2016 6:45 AM, PDT | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Although production has been going on for some months, the cast for Ridley Scott’s next installment in the Alien franchise is continuing to expand. Deadline is reporting that Prometheus star Noomi Rapace will take part in next summer’s Alien: Covenant, shooting multiple weeks of scenes. This clearly suggests a reprisal of her role as Elizabeth Shaw, one of two survivors of the Prometheus’ fated expedition. She will join the other survivor of that journey, the returning Michael Fassbender as David 8, a robot with a sharp wit and killer curiosity.

Alien: Covenant joins these two returning members with newcomers to the science-fiction series, including Katherine Waterston (whose character is rumored to have familial relations with the franchise’s biggest star), Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, and Demian Bichir. As we await the first trailer, which we imagine will arrive this winter, check out the behind-the-scenes photos thus far, including our first look at McBride. »

Noomi Rapace to return for Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant

21 June 2016 1:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Despite previous reports suggesting otherwise, sources close to Deadline have now confirmed that Noomi Rapace will be reprising her role from 2012’s Prometheus as Elizabeth Shaw for 2017’s sequel, Alien: Covenant. According to the outlet, the actress is currently on the set of the film in Australia, where she will shoot “weeks worth of scenes.” The size of her role is unknown at the time.

Back in August 2012, when 20th Century Fox announced they’d be making a sequel due to the moderate success of Prometheus, Rapace was on board to come back. Earlier this year, however, fans were led to believe that Rapace wouldn’t make an appearance after director Ridley Scott (Alien) confirmed such news in an interview. That story was further cemented when the film’s ensemble was unveiled and she wasn’t listed among the many names.

Noomi Rapace Is Returning for Alien: Covenant After All

20 June 2016 7:03 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Over the past few months, there have been a number of reports circulating about the possible involvement of Noomi Rapace on director Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. There were reports that she would only have a small role in the sequel, while others claimed that she had been cut out of the movie altogether. Now with production under way in Australia, it seems that Noomi Rapace will be a part of the movie after all.

Deadline's sources claim that Noomi Rapace is currently on the Alien: Covenant set in Australia, where she will shoot "weeks worth of scenes" in the sequel. The actress' character Elizabeth Shaw was the only human survivor of the Prometheus expedition, with the story set a decade after the 2012 movie. With the actress shooting "weeks" worth of scenes, it seems clear that her role will be more than just a simple cameo, although earlier reports claimed she had a small role, »

20 June 2016 6:25 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Noomi Rapace is coming on board Fox’s “Alien: Covenant,” the sequel to Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus.”

She joins Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Billy Crudup and Danny McBride with Scott directing. Fox had no comment.

Plot details have not been disclosed for “Alien: Covenant,” the second of what will be a trilogy of films. Rapace played the role of archaeologist Elizabeth Shaw in “Prometheus.”

Prometheus” was set in the late 21st century and about 30 years prior to the events in Scott’s 1979 movie “Alien.” The pic, which generated box office of more than $400 million worldwide, followed scientists aboard the spaceship Prometheus who discovered remains of an advanced civilization developing weapons that could wipe out the human race.

Noomi Rapace to Appear in Alien: Covenant?

20 June 2016 5:03 PM, PDT | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

Ever since the end credits rolled in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, viewers have been wondering if we’ll see more of Elizabeth Shaw on the big screen. But when Alien: Covenant, Scott’s sequel to his Alien prequel, was announced, actress Noomi Rapace was oddly absent from the gradually revealed cast. Until now.

Deadline reports that Rapace is on the Australian set of Alien: Covenant and is expected to “shoot weeks worth of scenes.” If Rapace is indeed back as Shaw, fans could finally see what happened after archeologist Elizabeth Shaw and the decapitated head of the android David (played by Michael Fassbender, who is already confirmed to co-star in Alien: Covenant), flew off the surface of Lv-223 in search of the Engineers’ home planet.

In addition to the aforementioned Fassbender (and potentially Rapace), the cast of Alien: Covenant includes Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice), Demián Bichir (The Bridge), Danny McBride »

Prometheus Star Noomi Rapace Will Return As Elizabeth Shaw For Alien: Covenant After All

20 June 2016 4:01 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

When Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel was officially announced, we were told that both survivors from that film (Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender's David) would be back. Then, Scott himslef confirmed that only the latter would return and the Shaw character had been written out. Well, the legendary director must have had a change of heart at some point, because Deadline reports that Rapace is off to Australia to shoot a week's worth of scenes on Alien: Covenant. From the sounds of that Shaw won't play a huge role, but fans should be pleased that we'll get some proper answers relating to her fate in the buildup to the events of this sequel, at least. Noomi Rapace Signs On For Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant

20 June 2016 3:47 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Despite reports to the contrary, it seems as if Noomi Rapace will be back to reprise her role as Elizabeth Shaw in Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the follow-up to the director’s very divisive Prometheus.

According to Deadline, the actress is currently down in Australia and on set, shooting her scenes for the sequel. We don’t know how big of a role she’ll have or how exactly she’ll factor into things this time around, but you’ve got to believe that she’ll be pretty involved. After all, she was the main character in the first film.

Rapace joins an already stellar cast, one that boasts the returning Michael Fassbender alongside newcomers like Katherine Waterson, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and Demian Bichir.

Alien: Covenant Revals New Image

With Alien: Covenant currently ploughing through filming, behind the scenes images from the Prometheus sequel, Alien prequel have bee making their way online. The latest has come our way, giving us our first look at a returning Michael Fassbender as the android David, and it looks like our hopes for the actor to be playing a disembodied head (the state he was left in as the end credits rolled on Prometheus) for much of the film have been all but dashed, as Fassbender seems to be in full costume (with a new ‘do) with full use of everything below the neck. With David’s rescue from a formerly utopian planet being an event that films plot hinges on, expect Mr. Fassbender to play a huge role  in the action, alongside Katherine Waterson, Danny McBrideDemián Bichir and Billy Crudup. New 'Alien: Covenant' Set Photo Show's First Look at the Un-Decapitated David

15 June 2016 6:56 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

While Ridley Scott's last 'Alien' film, 'Prometheus' wasn't the most well-received from big franchise fans, there were definitely a few shining highlights that most could agree on. Among those highlights was the curious android David, played by Michael Fassbender. His insight on the human behavior and his increasing hostility is what made him intriguing as a character and dangerous as a villain. Following, the release of Prometheus, I personally loved the idea of following Noomi Rapace and Fassbender's character on a handful of adventures away from the world of Alien, but it looks like Scott is planning just the opposite.

Not only has Rapace's character gotten the proverbial axe, but with Alien: Covenant, Scott plans to take the franchise deep into the Alien mythos -- as the title suggests. Luckily for us, Alien Covenant will still see the return of David. What his character will actually do in this film, »
