In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, »

Prepare yourself for The Lego Ninjago Movie Trailer

Author: Jon Lyus

Today we have our first look at the latest brick-built CG animated film with the release of the The Lego Ninjago Movie trailer. The enormous success of Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Lego Movie, and another certain box office bonanza courtesy of Chris McKay’s The Lego Batman Movie, made this new film an obvious choice.

The toy range on which this new movie is based was originally released in 2011. Quickly adding engaging characters and a cohesive world, blending modern and ancient elements, to Lego’s previous ninja set, Ninjago has spawned dozens of sets and figures. There are whole libraries of books as well as six series of animated TV adventures. A feature film based on the toy range will have a huge audience eager to catch the Masters of Spinjitzu on the big screen.

Coming Distractions: The Lego Ninjago Movie assembles its secret society in first teaser

7 February 2017 9:33 AM, PST | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Audiences enjoyed The Lego Movie enough to warrant a sequel and any spin-off that we could get our hands on, including The Lego Ninjago Movie. But the film was green-lit nearly three years ago, when everyone was still basking in the “Everything Is Awesome” afterglow. So don’t feel bad if you need a little reminding about what this particular movie spun off from a line of toys is about. Besides, Jackie Chan breaks it down real quick: as Sensei Wu, he leads a team of secret Ninjago warriors. His recruits—who are voiced by Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, and Zack Woods, —show varying degrees of eagerness for the responsibility, though. Maybe it’s because they’re worried about the warlord Koko (Justin Theroux).

Directed by Charlie Bean, The Lego Ninjago Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on September 21. A full trailer is coming soon.

7 February 2017 7:39 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Three years ago, Phil Lord and Chris Miller constructed a genuinely heartfelt romp in The Lego Movie, which went on to become something of an animated gold mine for Warner Bros. after raking in close to half a billion dollars at the international box office. And so, the sleeper hit went on to become a bona fide franchise-starter, leading WB to draft up plans for a direct sequel and two star-studded spinoffs in the form of The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie.

Out of the two, it is the former – and Will Arnett’s Caped Crusader – that will swoop into theaters first on Friday, February 10th (our review), but with a late September release in place for Lego Ninjago, Warner has today unveiled our first peek at Charlie Bean’s ninja-themed spinoff in motion as promised. First trailer for The Lego Ninjago Movie to be released soon

31 January 2017 10:40 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

2017 is gearing up to be a big year for Warner Bros. and their (if you will) Lego cinematic universe, as the studio is releasing not one, but two theatrical movies in the coming months. While the first of which, The Lego Batman Movie, is due out in most major territories on February 10th, fans will still have to wait until the latter half of the year for The Lego Ninjago Movie. However, according to a new report from TrailerTrack, a website devoted to trailer news, Ninjago devotees won’t have to wait much longer for more footage from the upcoming movie, as the BBFC has rated the first trailer.

Essentially, this means that we can expect the trailer to drop very soon, most likely a few days before the Caped Crusader swings into theaters. Don’t be surprised if as early as a week from today a new look at »

That’s a title it shares with The Lego Ninjago Movie, a star-studded spinoff featuring The Predator‘s Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux, Dave Franco, Jackie Chan, Michael Pena, Fred Armisen in the voice booth. Charlie Bean, Bob Logan, Paul Fisher will leverage directing duties between them, and we now have word that Ninjago‘s first official trailer is on the horizon. Trailer Track reports that Warner Bros. has now classified said teaser, and plans to attach the two-and-a-half-minute sizzle reel to The Lego Batman Movie which, as we alluded to before, is set to swoop into theaters on February 10th. »
