She acted in Patrick Marber's adaptation of August Strindberg's play, "After Miss Julie," at the Donmar Warehouse Theatre in London, England with Richard Coyle and Kelly Reilly in the cast. Michael Grandage was director.

People are really stupid. They think you're serious and intelligent if you're a brunette with a pale complexion and a bit of hooked nose. If you're blonde and pretty, they don't give you that sort of part. It's short-sighted and stupid, but that's how it goes.
In reality, Helen Baxendale became pregnant between TV-show "Friends" seasons 4 and 5; as a result she was unable to travel to the US to do any filming for season 5. As a result her only appearances were heavily swaddled in bed clothes, and she had to be written out of the series a lot earlier than was intended.
