Charlie Hunnam Captivates on Screen, but He's Even Better in Real Life

10 April 2017 12:16 PM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Image Source: Getty/Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic Charlie Hunnam is dancing within seconds of our introduction. "I just invented a Popsugar dance," he says. "Do you want to see it?" I tell him that I absolutely do, of course, and soon he's half bent over while punching the air with both arms, doing what can best be described as a victory dance. When I admit that I'd kill to have his moves on video, he just laughs, taking a seat at our small table and sitting back in his chair, ready for what must feel like the millionth interview of the week. If anybody deserves a victory dance right now, it's Hunnam. The 37-year-old actor is in the midst of a jam-packed press circuit as the star of two of Spring's most buzzed-about movies, King Arthur and The Lost City of Z. We meet during a press junket for the latter, »

Fxx’s ‘Man Seeking Woman’ Canceled

4 April 2017 4:30 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Fxx comedy “Man Seeking Woman” has been canceled following a three-season run.

Created by Simon Rich and based on his book of short stories “The Last Girlfriend on Earth,” “Man Seeking Woman” starred Jay Baruchel, Eric Andre, Britt Lower, and Katie Findlay in an absurdist comedy about dating life. Rich served as executive producer alongside Jonathan Krisel, Andrew Singer, Lorne Michaels, and Michaels’ Broadway Video. The series was produced by FX productions.

Season three of “Man Seeking Woman” ended in March. Although the season was well-reviewed — garnering an 89 score on Metacritic and 100% on Rotten Tomatoes — it was a poor ratings performer. In Nielsen live-plus-seven numbers, season three averaged 367,000 total viewers and 268,000 viewers ages 18-49 — retaining only 35% of the audience drawn by lead-in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

Speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January, Rich addressed the show’s evolution in its third season.

Newswire: Screenwriters slap Seth Rogen’s name onto their script in misguided attempt to get it read

29 March 2017 7:28 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

In a move that kind of sounds like the first act of a mid-tier Seth Rogen comedy from a couple of years ago—maybe with Jay Baruchel or Craig Robinson in a supporting role—a pair of unknown-but-ambitious Hollywood screenwriters were recently caught sticking Rogen’s name on their screenplay in an effort to get it read. According to The Hollywood Reporter, would-be writers Jonathan Witz and Jeremy Spektor slapped Rogen and his frequent writing partner Evan Goldberg’s name and production company on their script for a Jewish mafia movie titled Kosher Nostra, in the hopes that it would get past Hollywood “gatekeepers” and into the hands of directors and producers—not to mention Rogen himself.

“Like any young writer, we all have our heroes—Seth and Evan are those guys for us,” Spektor told reporters when asked about the stunt. Meanwhile, Witz cited the famous story of Steven »

How To Train Your Dragon 3 Is The Movie The Series Deserves

26 March 2017 9:56 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Given how successful the franchise has been up to this point, it’s a bit surprising that it’s taken so damn long for How To Train Your Dragon 3 to get off the ground. Granted, animated films often do have long productions, but still, the last film flew into theatres in 2014 and the threequel isn’t set to arrive until 2019. That’s a five year gap, which is a long time for any series – animated or not.

Still, interest in the franchise remains high, and fans are eager for any and all tidbits they can get their hands on as the long wait continues. Thankfully, star Jay Baruchel recently offered an update while speaking on the JoBlo Movie Show podcast, revealing that he’s already begun work on it.

I’ve already done a number of recording sessions for that one. Once every 2-4 months I will work for »

‘Dragons: Race to the Edge’: 6 Reasons the ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Netflix Show Isn’t Just For Kids

20 March 2017 12:20 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

DreamWorks Animation has established itself as a studio which consistently produces stunning animated films, and perhaps no more so than with its “How to Train Your Dragon” film series. The franchise boasts endlessly beautiful imagery, as well as incredibly lovable characters and intense action. All of these elements can be found in spades in the Netflix spinoff series “Race to the Edge,” as the show expands on these facets and digs deep into what makes the franchise so great.

As with most animated properties, the main demographic for the “Dragons” franchise is children. However, the creators of both the films and TV series have shown that this franchise isn’t exclusively for children; rather, it’s conveniently made accessible for children, while proving entertaining for older audiences as well. Whether you’re a fan of animation, the franchise, looking for a fun fantasy series to binge for a couple of weekends, »

Jay Baruchel praises Batman v Superman as “the world’s most expensive indie film”

20 March 2017 4:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Actor and comedian Jay Baruchel is currently doing interviews to promote his upcoming sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, which is a project he directs and stars in.

During an interview with Joblo, Baruchel was put on the spot to discuss some recent films he has really enjoyed. In addition to mentioning Tom Ford’s noirish thriller Nocturnal Animals (which he described as “gorgeous and compelling”), he bravely brought up the critically destroyed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Baruchel praised the blockbuster, saying: “I’ve watched it about seven times… even when I saw the theatrical one and didn’t love it. In its weakest moment, it has more choice, style and commitment to it than the best moment in Captain America: Civil War. I can’t tell you what it’s about or who made it. You watch Batman v Superman you know exactly what it’s about »

This weekend in theatres we've got some amazing movies!

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is back on the big screen in live action with Emma Watson playing Belle and Dan Stevens playing the Beast! Super excited for this one because the original animated movie is hands down my favourite Disney movie. Bring the entire family to this one and see it in IMAX!

Another classic returning is T2: Trainspotting! 20 years after the original that blew audiences away. The best part about this is that Ewan McGregor and his motley crew are back, along with director Danny Boyle. Choose life, choose Trainspotting 2!

And speaking of sequels, Goon hits the ice again in Goon 2: Last of the Enforcers. »
