Was Miss USA 1975 and also second runner-up in the 1975 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.

Tried out to fill the letter turner job on "Wheel of Fortune" after Susan Stafford left in 1982. The other tryouts were Vicki McCarty & Vanna White. The job was given to White after 6 weeks of tryouts, and she is on the show to this day.

Co-winner of the Miss Photogenic award at Miss Universe 1975

Although she was born in November, Summer was named six months later, for the character Summer Olsen in the Steve Canyon comic by Milton Caniff.
