Joseph "J.J." Barmettler is an award-winning multi-faceted filmmaker with experience in feature films, documentaries and doc-reality television programs. He is Producer of the 2009 summer beach movie "Beach Kings" ("Green Flash" foreign title) starring David Charvet, Torrey Devitto, Jaleel White and Kristin Cavallari. "Beach Kings " was released July 14, 2009 by MGM/Fox Home Entertainment. Joseph also Produced the quirky indie feature film "Alien Secrets" distributed by Warner Home Entertainment and Polychrome Pictures in 2007. He is Supervising Writer, Producer and Director for the successful TNT's action/comedy television series, "L.A. Heat" starring Steven Williams, Wolf Larsen and Sugar Ray Leonard.

His extensive screen-writing credits include the HBO World premiere of "Rage", and the Universal Music & Home Video DVD releases of the sci-fi film "Silencers" and urban action thriller "Riot". Other films include the sci-fi "Timelock" and the dark comedy "Pure Danger", directed by C. Thomas Howell.

Joseph Barmettler was a staff writer for P.M. Entertainment run by veteran producers Joseph Merhi, Richard Pepin and George Shamieh. While working as both a freelance writer and staff writer, Barmettler was involved with the scripting and development of a dozen feature films produced for foreign and domestic markets. The company was considered one of the more successful independent producers of film and television product. The P.M. film library is currently owned by Echo Bridge Entertainment.

J.J.'s Producing credits include doc-reality series like the Daytime Emmy Award winning series "Adoption Stories" for Discovery Health Channel, "Backyard Brigade" for Discovery Home, "TLC's "A Personal Story" and "Making It Home: Greensburg" hosted by Trading Space's Faber Dewar and Doug Wilson. Currently, Joseph produced Discovery Channel's "American Gangs: Outlaw Bikers" airing Winter of 2009.
