'It was the best tour of our lives, ever,' he says of roller-coaster summer.

Travis Barker has had some time to digest everything that happened during Blink-182's reunion tour. It was a three-month roller-coaster ride that featured the highest of highs — sold-out venues, blissed-out crowds, high-flying drum solos — and, with the shocking death of Barker's friend Adam "DJ Am" Goldstein, the absolute lowest of lows.
So last week, when MTV News spoke to him about his upcoming solo album, we asked for his reactions on the Blink tour and how he coped with Goldstein's death while in the midst of it all.
"No doubt, it was the best tour of our lives, ever. The most fun I've ever had on a Blink tour with Mark and Tom," Barker said. "[I] couldn't have got through the lowest of lows on that tour without Mark and Tom, »

Just months after her son died from a drug overdose, DJ Am's mother is picking up the late musician's lawsuit against the airline whose crash nearly killed him, claiming the two events are related.
Andrea Gross, the mother of Adam Goldstein, has amended her son's $20 million lawsuit against the manufacturer of the Learjet that crashed upon takeoff in September 2008 with Goldstein and Travis Barker onboard. Also named in the lawsuit are the estates of the deceased pilots and others. According to a People report, Los Angeles court papers show that Gross has added a wrongful-death claim to her son's lawsuit.
"The crash ultimately caused Adam Goldstein's death at a later date," the document reads.
A trial is set for March 2, with Learjet continuing to deny responsibility for the crash. »

Former beauty queen-turned-reality TV star Shanna Moakler has returned to the Miss USA pageant organisation after resigning as a director following a scandal with ex-Miss California Carrie Prejean earlier this year.
Moakler stepped down from her position in May after Prejean was allowed to keep her Miss California crown despite allegations she was violating her contractual obligations by failing to make public appearances.
The former wife of rocker Travis Barker then felt vindicated when pageant boss Donald Trump decided to strip Prejean of her title the following month.
Now Moakler, who was crowned Miss USA in 1995, is returning to her roots - because she believes in the values pageantry teaches young women.
She explains, "I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for pageants. And the reason I got involved is because I wanted to give back to girls, and I really believe that girls that are involved in pageants are ambitious, driven women who are trying to set themselves apart from the pack."
Moakler insists she was able to overlook Prejean's headline-making controversy - after she went public with her opposition to gay marriage and then appeared in a set of provocative beach photos - but she was insulted when the blonde allegedly ignored her duties.
She adds, "It was never about her (Prejean's) opinion... We have tons of religious, conservative beauty queens around the country; there has never been a beauty queen that has been dethroned because of her religious views. But, there have been many that have had their crowns taken away for breaching their contract."
Prejean is still facing controversy - a racy sex tape she recorded for a boyfriend when she was 17 leaked onto the internet earlier this month. »

Slash, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington also on tap for Barker's LP.

While the status of Blink-182's much-discussed "Up All Night" — the new song they didn't play on their just-wrapped reunion tour — remains unclear, drummer Travis Barker isn't letting that stop him from talking up another new Blink tune, one that will appear on his upcoming solo record.
"There's some stuff on my record that's not going to have a bunch of guitars, that are just straight-up hip hop records. Everything's going be real different. It's going to be really well-rounded," he told MTV News on Wednesday. "We got a new Blink song on there, I think I'm going to do something with Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. Hopefully a guest appearance from Slash, I'm doing his big fundraiser that happens this month. I think there's going to be a collaboration with [Kanye West's touring DJ] A-Track, »

'It was a tough one, man,' Blink-182 drummer says of crafting his remix of the track featuring Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem.

Apparently, Travis Barker doesn't sleep. At all. Which is how he's able to keep cranking out remixes while simultaneously working on a new Blink-182 record, his own solo album, and rehearsing for an upcoming show with none other than Slash (a November 22 benefit for the Los Angeles Youth Network). And that's not even getting into his business ventures, or his role as a rock-and-roll dad.
"Yeah, I wake up at 6," he laughed. "I'm a busy man, I guess."
Seriously, the guy never rests. And as if you need further proof of this, check out his brand-new remix of Drake's "Forever" (with video of Travis drumming), which Barker emailed to MTV News Wednesday (November 11) morning. It's just »

Rocker Travis Barker's outspoken ex-wife has publicly apologised to socialite Khloe Kardashian after calling her a "donkey" on U.S. TV.
Shanna Moakler was talking about Kardashian's recent wedding to basketball star Lamar Odom on the Wendy Williams Show on Tuesday when she let rip with her thoughts about the newlywed fellow reality TV star.
But after Kardashian responded to the former beauty queen via Twitter.com, admitting she had no idea "who this girl is" Moakler took to her Twitter.com to say sorry.
She wrote, "You are right. We don't know each other personally and I apologize for my comment this morning." »

The wait is ova. No, not that one. After months of delays and rescheduled street dates, Lil Wayne's new album, Rebirth, finally has an official release date. According to Billboard.com, the disc long rumored to be Wayne's "rock" album will drop on December 15.
The album will come on the heels of his just-released No Ceilings mixtape. And while there has been some confusion about just how much actual rocking Wayne will do on it— he does appear on the new Weezer album — the rapper recently told Billboard that he does indeed bang his head on Rebirth.
"Yes, the album is still rock," he said. "I play guitar on 80 percent of the songs, and there's a lot of rock influences and rock beats. I also have Travis Barker on the album. »

Fall Out Boy front-man Pete Wentz is one of a handful of celebrities that Activision has tapped thus far to reenact the famous floor-skid underwear scene from "Risky Business." Past stars include Heidi Klum (guh), Alex Rodriguez and Bobby Knight throwing a drum kit. For the "Band Hero" commercial, Wentz is playing backup for Taylor Swift, paired with Rivers Cuomo and Travis Barker, with the band appearing in the buttondown shirt/underwear combo.
I spoke with Wentz about the commercial, as well as his gaming habits.
Regarding recreating the classic movie moment from "Risky Business," Wentz said it didn't come easily.
"I have a new appreciation for everyone that's done that slide. It's hard to slide into once place and kinda try to look cool and do it on a beat. It's not an easy thing to do. It would change up, 'cause they'd Lysol the floor and it'd be slicker. »

The latest commercial video for Activision's Band Hero video game has made its way out via Internet. 19-year-old Taylor Swift appears in the 30-second clip, donning a skimpy sparkling dress matched with black boots.
At the beginning of the video, the young country music songstress is seen singing part of her single "Love Story" in front of the stairs of a house. Serenading the track, she is joined by Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy, Travis Barker from Blink-182, and Rivers Cuomo from Weezer. The scene then switches to film them rocking to the song on stage.
In the advertisement, the foursome pays tribute to the infamous "Old Time Rock and Roll" scene that is taken from Tom Cruise's 1983 movie "Risky Business". Recently, Pete dished on himself who decided to strip down to his undies in the video, saying "That was so much fun to make."

Taylor Swift appears alongside Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, Blink-182's Travis Barker and Weezer's Rivers Cuomo in Brett Ratner-directed commercial ad for Activision video game Band Hero. Taylor wears a mini silver dress, while the three guys are seen sporting white shorts and pink shirt, similar to what was worn by Tom Cruise in "Risky Business".
"The premise is that we're sliding out into a living room and it's me and three other players. The three other players are some of my musical heroes," Taylor commented on the video shoot. "I'm kind of freaking out, getting to work with Travis Barker, Pete Wentz and Rivers Cuomo from Weezer. They're rocking out to my song."

Our friends at Activision have sent us a cool behind the scenes video showing what it’s like to shoot a TV commercial for the game Band Hero, which hits stores today. It features artists such as Taylor Swift, Pete Wentz and Travis Barker, but don’t let that stop you from taking a look anyway.
I kid. I kid because I care. In all seriousness, I worked on a lot of commercials over the years and I can tell you that very few of them were ever this cool to shoot or, in the end, to watch. So, leave your preconceptions at the door and take a look at this video.
Who knows, you might just enjoy it. Plus, you’ll also get more of a taste of Band Hero, a game I just know you’re anxious to try — especially if you’re a fan of Guitar Hero. »

The more Lil Wayne's rock-leaning LP Rebirth is delayed, the more fans wonder if the superstar rapper can really pull off the genre-switching feat he's attempting.
The project has been pushed back several times already, and producer Dre of Cool & Dre told MTV News back in April that the project wouldn't necessarily be all rock. But in the November 7 edition of Billboard magazine, the Cash Money lyricist emphatically states he'll be rocking out on Rebirth.
In the interview, which appears to have taken place before Weezy pleaded guilty to felony gun possession last week, the Mc also assured fans that he knows exactly what he's doing with this foray into rock.
"Yes, the album is still rock," he explained. "I play guitar on 80 percent of the songs, »

Already making a name through a mixtape and full-length studio album, Kid Cudi is now eying to enter studio for a compilation project. He tentatively calls the new effort "Cudder" and hopes to recruit some hottest music talents from rock genre.

I'm really trying to do all the collabs that I couldn't do for the [first] album, and then some, because the album was so themed that I had to strip a lot of features. It's been a long time since Mickey Avalon was passing out demos at Hollywood nightclubs and scrambling to secure a deal with MySpace Records. If you slept on his self-titled 2006 debut — an insanely profane, gutter-hugging punk rap manifesto featuring the classics "Jane Fonda" and "So Rich, So Pretty" — might I suggest you boost a copy from the cut-out bin of your local used record store? (It's what the old Mickey might have done.)
A few years removed from his more sordid days of street chaos, Avalon has been grinding away on his second album for the past few years, recording more than 70 tracks with a bevy of bold-faced names and a couple of unlikely hotshot producers. Calling in from Los Angeles on Thursday (don't worry, Governator — Mickey's mom was driving the car), Avalon gave a preview of what fans can expect from the tentatively titled Electric Gigolo, which is penciled »
