Usually I have a specific reason for picking each week's candidate for "Best Movie Ever" -- say, if Jane Fonda goes back to work or summer is approaching -- but with 1988's Working Girl, it's just a matter of necessity. It has to be considered for Best Movie Ever because 1) I can watch it again and again, 2) It doesn't mind being ridiculous, and 3) It spends most of its time being right. Plus, this Mike Nichols jam is a beaming strobe light of '80s ferocity, and not just because Joan Cusack's teal eyeshadow and Sigourney Weaver's vermilion blazer will char your retinas. This movie is a celebration of self-respect, floor-length leather jackets, and drive. Let's count up its greatest assets and see if it comes out looking better than Citizen Kane.
1. Melanie Griffith is so, so right for this role. Or so, so wrong!

Last night's premiere of Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 featured a non-cry-faced James Van Der Beek starring as, well, a semi-demonic version of James Van Der Beek. In one scene, he's trying to bed a fan who's at the ready with her whipped-cream bikini and the Dawson's Creek theme song on full blast. We love when stars do this. Not only making cameos as themselves, but playing silly, over-the-top, totally jerk-ified versions of themselves. Shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Extras, and Entourage have pretty much made this the standard tone of "as him/herself" characters, but let's not forget Ryan Seacrest's anti-starlet rant in Knocked Up, or the time Bob Barker punched Happy Gilmore in the face. Check out our video roundup for all that and more. »

Break out your spangly tuxes and commemorative Doogie Howser lunchboxes: Neil Patrick Harris will host the Tony Awards for the third time in June. And if it’s anything like his previous hosting stints, this one’s going to be legen… Well, you know.
Nph’s opening and closing songs have been the best thing about two recent Tonys telecasts. In 2009, he impressed with a West Side Story parody tune about the night’s winners. Last year, he upped the ante with “It’s Not Just for Gays Anymore,” a catchy number that still gets stuck in my head. Though »

How to unwind after a tough day of attending awards ceremonies and movie premieres? Well, if you're Tom Cruise, by fencing. That's the sport Tom enjoys along with Will Smith and David Beckham, the Huffington Post notes in its list of 10 celebrity leisure activities: David Arquette : The former Mr. Courteney Cox is a knitter, who knew? Apparently Russell Crowe also partakes in this particular pastime. Mila Kunis : She's so addicted to online game World of Warcraft that she actually had to give it up for a while. Bob Barker : Can you picture the Price is Right host doing karate? »

Two and a Half Men 9.18 "Palmdale, Ech" Review
We learned a couple of things in this week's episode of Two and a Half Men: Jake still has the ability to form several complete sentences, and Evelyn is still alive. The past few episodes have focused on the two couples: Walden and Zoey, and Alan and Lyndsey. Those episodes were enjoyable, but this season has had a lack of Jake scenes and a lack of Evelyn altogether. The March 19 episode, "Palmdale, Ech," begins to make up for this.
The episode begins with Walden talking on the phone to Zoey, who will be gone for another week. They say, "I love you" back and forth many times, and Jake and Eldridge start to make fun of Walden. Walden reassures Zoey that neither Alan or Jake will be living in the house forever. (Just until the series ends, or longer.)

It took a lot of begging and pleading from both producers and the public, but for whatever reason Johnny Depp saw it in his heart to return in one knockout scene in the new film version of "21 Jump Street," based on the hit Fox TV show that made him a star.
To put him in the ranks of some of the greatest movie cameos ever, we're counting down 35 surprise appearances in movies that pleased and shocked us -- and left us wanting more.
35. Jim Parsons, 'The Muppets' (2011)
Walter (Peter Linz) has to decide if he's "Man or Muppet," but during this solemn ballad he sees his human form in the mirror courtesy of the "Big Bang Theory" star. Although it was tunesmith Bret McKenzie who wrote the song, we think that a small chunk of that Academy Award for Best Song should go to Parsons for embodying the »

PETA and Bob Barker welcomed a host of stars at the grand opening of PETA’s new Bob Barker Building, named in honor of the longtime animal advocate who donated $2.5 million for the renovation of the historic structure in Los Angeles yesterday.
Among those attending were Angela Simmons, Carrie Ann Inaba, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Owain Yeoman, John Salley, Christian Serratos and Grammy, Golden Globe, and Emmy Award–winning songwriter Diane Warren.
“It’s an unbeatable combination: Bob Barker, L.A., and animal rights!” says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. “We are excited to open PETA’s West Coast headquarters and add ‘animal rights epicenter’ to the description of this entertainment capital.”

Because there aren't enough music-themed shows and game shows out there: Production company FremantleMedia has secured the rights to "Name That Tune," reports Vulture.
The show tested competitors' musical knowledge in a head-to-head face-off, and it's been nearly 25 years since an original episode aired in the U.S.
Fremantle, which has its hand in music-minded ventures like "American Idol," "The X Factor" and "America's Got Talent," isn't the first to try rebooting the show -- MTV gave it a go in 2007, CBS in 2006. Neither came to fruition.
The company has successfully revived "Family Feud" and "Let's Make a Deal," and it managed the host transition from Bob Barker to Drew Carey on "The Price is Right." So perhaps it can succeed where others have failed?
Take a look at the show in its golden era:

Just days after speaking out against The Price Is Right’s recent promotion of the Calgary Stampede and Rodeo, iconic television host Bob Barker has fired off another letter on PETA’s behalf to the event’s main sponsors—including Bell Canada, General Motors of Canada Limited, Anheuser-Busch International, and TransAlta Corporation—to urge them to turn their backs on the notoriously violent and deadly rodeo.
In the letter, Barker points out that horses routinely die in the stampede—one had to be euthanized on the first day of last year’s spectacle, and six horses died in 2010’s event alone. Many more sustain painful injuries.
“The Calgary Stampede has long been synonymous with animal abuse,” writes Barker. “I hope you will agree that no animal deserves to suffer like this in the name of a tradition that should have died out with the covered wagon’s last ride. My »

Calgary - A prize giveaway from "The Price is Right" for a trip to two to mark the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede has former host Bob Barker stomping mad.
The show, now hosted by Drew Carey, awarded a five-day trip for two to the Stampede in July on Wednesday's show.
This year is the 100th anniversary for what is dubbed the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
"If I had been there, it would never in the world have happened," Barker said in an interview with The Canadian Press from his home in Hollywood, Calif.
"In fact, if I had been there, the people I worked with would never even have suggested it. But it has happened and it's very regrettable."
"The Price is Right'' on CBS has been handing out cash and prizes to lucky winners for almost four decades.

Today’s How I Met Your Mother panel at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles was certainly less heated than, say, that of Two Broke Girls. But the lack of drama thankfully didn’t translate into lack of scoop.
In fact, executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas were rather forthcoming about what’s coming up on their hit comedy, and (joined on stage by stars Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel) dolled out some pretty good scoop on what’s to come. We’ve picked out the five best bits.

To be fair, Neil Patrick Harris already had a bit of an unfair advantage going in to today’s episode of The Price Is Right. Not only does the universally beloved star have daytime television experience (sorry, Snoop), but before his appearance for Celebrity Charity Week, Nph already got to hear those magic words “Come on down!” Well, technically, it was Barney Stinson who became the single greatest player in the history of the “original” Price Is Right after he won everything (including some sweet gifts for Marshall and Lily’s wedding) and met his “dad,” then-host Bob Barker. It was… »

The Prizzle is Rizzle.
Snoop Dogg made one of his patented "Did He Really Do That?!" appearances on Monday with a spot on "The Price is Right," joining Drew Carey to create what is the greatest hip hop-daytime TV collaborations in history. The rapper played the game first, notching $72,585 for his Snoop Youth Football League (his mind was on the children's money, this time) and then took a turn doling out the prizes. Apparently, this was a big thrill for him, as he spoke after the show about growing up watching "The Price is Right."
As per his custom, it was a nice promotional opportunity for Mssr. Dogg, as he promoted the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans, where he'll be rapping and also hosting one lucky winner. The highlight of the show came when he put on his announcer's voice for some of the classic game show lines; if »
