John Bardon was born on August 25, 1939 in Brentford, Middlesex, England as John Michael Jones. He was an actor and writer, known for EastEnders (1985), East Is East (1999) and Clockwise (1986). He was married to Enda Gates. He died on September 12, 2014 in Romford, London, England.

Played Private Walker in the 1976 stage show of Dads Army.
He was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1988 (1987 season) for Best Actor in a Musical. He shared this award with his co-star, Emil Wolk.
Was forced to take a hiatus from EastEnders (1985) after suffering a stroke in June 2007. Bardon made his return to the soap opera the following year and appeared intermittently until May 2011 when his health began to deteriorate after suffering a second stroke.
Is close friends with EastEnders (1985) on-screen wife June Brown.
