Powerhouse actress Vidya Balan talks about her new film ‘TE3N’

Vidya Balan is the champion of the female-centric genre in Bollywood and broke the trend that only movies with male actors can set the cash registers jingling at the Box Office with her movies The Dirty Picture and Kahaani.

Having won numerous awards worldwide for her acting skills, the 38-year-old actress also completed the duties of a jury member at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

TE3N (Three) centers around John Biswas (Amitabh Bachchan) who lost his granddaughter, Angela, in a tragic kidnapping incident that scarred him and his wife Nancy forever. But eight years later, while the world has moved on, John hasn’t given up his relentless quest for justice. He continues to visit the police station where he’s shunned and ignored daily. Aditya Raj Kapoor wonders about bio-pic featuring Vidya Balan
Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali's son Aditya Raj Kapoor who is a filmmaker, actor, author and a bike aficionado wonders about the Bhagwan Dada bio-pic entitled Ek Albela in Marathi to be directed by Shekhar Sartandel.

Aditya's mother the legendary Geeta Bali will be played by Vidya Balan.

Speaking on the project for the first time Aditya says, "No one has approached me about information on my mother on this film. We know nothing about it except what has appeared in the public domain. Which is fine. I am sure the makers are capable of doing justice to the film. But I could have told them so much about Geetaji. No one knew her the way I do. I was only 9 when she suddenly died. But she left an indelible impression on me and my sister."

Aditya wonders which aspect of his mom's life the film will touch on.

Vidya Balan to make her Marathi debut with Ek Albela
After working in Bengali and South cinema, Vidya Balan is all set to enter the Marathi industry. The actress, who was last seen in Hamari Adhuri Kahani, will now play the role of renowned yesteryear Bollywood actress Geeta Bali in the upcoming Marathi film Ek Albela. Ek Albela traces the journey of Bhagwan Dada's film career as an actor and director and Vidya's role will be credited as a special appearance. For the ones who are unaware, Bhagwan Dada faced a lot of obstacles while making the musical Albela which had Geeta Bali in the lead. This book will cover the professional and personal aspects of Shammi Kapoor's life as a husband, a father and a national icon. Kanchan is Shammi Kapoor's daughter from his first wife Geeta Bali. Her family was touched and overwhelmed by the importance given to the legendary star in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. Shammi Kapoor was in unimaginable pain when he was shooting for Rockstarand Ranbir and Imtiaz felt that this spirit needed to be applauded and thus dedicated their film to the original Rockstar of Bollywood. Kanchan will be writing this book as a tribute to her father.

Anil Kapoor's father Surinder Kapoor passes away

Adding to the series of unfortunate incidents that have rocked Bollywood in recent days, film producer Surinder Kapoor, 84, father of popular actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and producer Boney Kapoor, passed away in Mumbai  on Saturday.The producer of super-hit films like Who 7 Din, Judaai, Pukar, etc. suffered a cardiac arrest which caused his death, reports suggested.His last film as a producer was Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor-starrer No Entry which rocked the box office in 2005.Before turning producer, Surinder Kapoor was the secretary of actress Geeta Bali, Shammi Kapoor.s first wife. Incidentally, even after he turned producer, Surinder remembered his old association with Geeta Bali and started his films with a tribute to the late actress. Bollywood lost iconic actor Shammi Kapoor, ace photographer Gautam Rajadakhsyha and director Jag Mundhra in the recent past.

My father allowed me to go where I wanted away from home and do whatever I wished. Today, I.ve allowed both my children the same freedom. My father wrote the manual for our future generations,. said Aditya. .Nothing can compare with my father. I recently told my dad I look, walk and talk like him. The dashing, debonair Indian actor Shammi Kapoor, who has died of renal failure aged 79, changed the face of Bollywood cinema with his first hit film, Tumsa Nahin Dekha (Never Seen Anyone Like You, 1957). The rock'n'roll-inspired movie turned the young actor into an overnight sensation and he continued to incorporate elements of western culture and fashion in his subsequent films. A prominent lead actor in Hindi cinema during late 1950s and 1960s, Shammi Kapoor passed away today at 5.15 am. He was suffering from Renal Chronic failure and was admitted at Breach candy hospital, where he breathed his last. Born on October 21, 1931 in a Punjabi Khatri family, he is an Indian film actor and director.Veteran actor Shammi was the second of the three sons born to Prithviraj (the other two being Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor). Though born in Mumbai, he spent a major portion of his childhood in Kolkata, where his father was involved with New Theatres Studios, acting in films.
