Based on Dr. Seuss’ children’s book of the same name, Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda’s adaptation of Dr. SeussThe Lorax is sure to be a huge hit when it comes out next year. We got the excellent first trailer for it last month, followed up by some great first look images just a few days later.

Yahoo Movies have now got a great video that takes a look inside the film, with short little interview with the cast cut together between clips of the film from the trailer, with the same awesome song by The Polyphonic Spree, Light & Day / Reach For The Sun, playing in the background.

Renaud and Balda worked together on last year’s brilliant animated success, Despicable Me, and judging by what we’ve seen so far, their work on this is giving us another fantastic film to look forward to next year.

‘The Lorax’ Australian Trailer Offers a Bleak Look at the Post-Once-ler Landscape

9 November 2011 5:00 AM, PST | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

[1] If last month's trailer [2] for The Lorax seemed surprisingly cutesy and sweet for an urgent environmental fable, perhaps the new Australian trailer will balance it out. Where the last one really played up the colorful setting and playful tone, the new video offers a much better look at the destruction the greedy Once-ler (voiced by Ed Helms) hath wrought. Seriously, the Once-ler seems to live in some Seuss-ified version of the bleak post-apocalyptic landscape from The Road [3]. Based on a classic children's book by Dr. Seuss, the film sees a young boy named Ted (voiced by Zac Efron) who sets out to learn the true story of how the Once-ler came to trash the Truffula trees over the warnings of the righteous, if slightly annoying, Lorax (Danny DeVito). Watch the new trailer after the jump. [via Cinema Blend [4]] Unfortunately, the new trailer also seems to have slightly lamer jokes and more of Helms doing his weird, »

Australian Trailer for The Lorax Has More Footage, Less Romance

8 November 2011 2:51 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

In the domestic trailer for Dr. SeussThe Lorax, we got a sense of the romantic angle that directors Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) and Kyle Balda want to take, along with the story of the title character. A new Australian trailer for The Lorax omits the romance entirely in favor of a few new bits of footage. This promo focuses more on the legend of The Lorax (Danny DeVito) and his run-in with the Once-ler (Ed Helms). The Universal Pictures interpretation of the Dr. Seuss classic will bring the grumpy Lorax to life in “IMAX Tree-d.” The film also features the voice talents of Taylor Swift, Betty White and Rob Riggle. Dr. Seuss' The Lorax opens on March 2, 2012. Hit the jump to check out the new trailer. Thanks to The Playlist for the heads-up on the trailer. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax starring Zac Efron and Taylor Swift – trailer review

Dr. SeussThe Lorax

Directed by: Chris Renaud (co-director Kyle Balda)

Starring: Zac Efron, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Taylor Swift

Rating: Not Yet Rated

Release Date: March 2, 2012

Trailer Score: 7/10

Thoughts by Tsr: 2008’s Horton Hears a Who! is a film I like, so naturally I was on board when I heard that film’s writing team was penning another Dr. Seuss adaptation. Now that I’ve seen the trailer for Dr. SeussThe Lorax I have a few minor issues, but I mostly enjoyed what it had to offer. I’d be lying if I said the song by The Polyphonic Spree didn’t have something to do with that, but it’s still a beautifully animated trailer for a film with a good deal of potential.

Like many others, I’m not sure how I feel about the filmmaker’s decision to depict the Once-ler as human. Actually, that »

How 2012 is shaping up to be a golden year for animated movies

1 November 2011 7:42 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Mainstream animation is thriving right now. But, as he looks ahead to some of the treats in store for 2012, Simon wonders if it's going to get even better...

There’s a school of thinking that, right now, we’re going through something of a second golden age of animation. The difference this time, though, is that this isn’t being driven by one company. Rather, that for the first time in the history, the mainstream movie animation industry has at least eleven companies capable of producing a strong animated movie.

If you want proof of that, firstly, take a glance at this year. Ilm burst into the animation industry (an area where it’s arguably existed for some time) with the superb Rango (still in my top five films of the year, and still thoroughly awesome), for starters.

We’ve also had Disney going close to its roots with Winnie The Pooh and Tangled, »

The Lorax Trailer. Chris Renaud, Kyle Balda‘s The Lorax (2012) movie trailer stars Zac Efron, Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Taylor Swift, and Betty White. Great CG animation here and the Dr. Seuss story is cute, not great, cute. The humor is good though e.g “she’s a woman?” The film boasts the resplendent colors of a Hayao Miyazaki film.

The Lorax also stars Willow Smith, Rob Riggle, and Sherry Lynn.

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Trailer

The first trailer has arrived online this week for yet another adaptation of a Dr. Seuss classic. Following in the footsteps of the highly successful Horton Hears a Who!, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have opted for a CG-animated take on Seuss' environmental fable The Lorax. The movie features the voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms, Betty White and Danny DeVito, and is directed by Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda (Despicable Me). The story revolves around a young boy who lives in a world where trees no longer exist. He sets out on a journey to discover what happened to the forest, and along the way meets the Once-ler who is chopping down the trees, and the Lorax, who fights to protect nature. Like most movies based on Seuss' stories, they will clearly have to stretch out the plot with a fair amount of their own ideas, but »

Villanous Once-ler from ‘The Lorax’ Revealed [Gallery]

20 October 2011 3:30 PM, PDT | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

[1] Anyone who read Dr. Seuss' The Lorax as a kid is undoubtedly familiar with the title character, the mustachioed orange grump who speaks for the trees. The villainous Once-ler, on the other hand, has always remained more of a mystery. Seuss' books showed only a pair of long, spindly arms, leaving readers to guess at the rest of his appearance. We'll never know exactly how Seuss pictured him, as the writer and illustrator passed away in 1991. But Universal has unveiled its take on the character in a new image from the upcoming animated adaptation of Seuss' tale. Directed by Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda and produced by Christopher Meledandri (Horton Hears a Who), The Lorax features the voices of Danny DeVito as the eponymous creature and Ed Helms as the Once-ler. Take a look at the Once-ler, and a couple of other images, after the jump. [gallery columns="2" orderby="title" exclude="114388"] [via Entertainment Weekly [2]] Is it a »
