Bazinga again! “The Big Bang Theory” stars Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will guest star on the series finale of CBS’ “Young Sheldon,” reuniting as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler. Details of the episode, which airs Thursday, May 16, and how Parsons and Bialik will be incorporated into it, remains a secret.
Parsons, of course, has been a part of “Young Sheldon” from the beginning, serving as the show’s narrator and as one of its executive producers. Bialik has also been heard on two episodes of “Young Sheldon” as a guest voiceover. But this reps the first time the duo has been on screen together since the May 2019 series finale of “The Big Bang Theory,” and it also marks the first on-camera appearance of their characters — as grown-up Sheldon and Amy.

Kevin James is not exactly a name that comes to mind when one thinks of the phrase "movie star." People of a certain age probably picture the lovable everyman Doug Heffernan from his long-running sitcom "The King of Queens," but a great many others will probably think of two words: Paul Blart. Be it solely for the memes or because you're one of the many moviegoers who genuinely enjoys the film, "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" was a bonafide hit that started a franchise and, though it may not be how we generally think of him, asserted James as a butts-in-seats movie star.

Variety’s annual Showrunners Dinner presented by A+E Studios on Thursday night gathered writers recognized on the publication’s annual TV Producers Impact List, as well as several of this year’s Emmy nominees. In addition, megaproducer Chuck Lorre was honored with Variety’s first Norman Lear Award.
Held at Merois, on the rooftop of the Pendry West Hollywood, the Variety Showrunners Dinner included a very funny acceptance speech by Lorre, who pointed out some of the similarities — but more humorously, the differences — between the two icons.
“I think everyone here understands the enormity and significance of Norman Lear’s body of work,” Lorre began. “So in accepting this award, I don’t think it’s false modesty to take a moment and focus on the very large differences between his career and my own. For starters, Norman Lear began his career writing for Hollywood legends like Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

Chuck Lorre has delivered hit sitcoms like Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory — and it’s safe to say that the director now has his hands on another comedic win with Bookie, co-created by Nick Bakay. Charlie Sheen Is Back with Two and a Half Men Creator Chuck Lorre for a New Max Comedy Series Bookie
Chuck Lorre's latest series, Bookie, brings together Lorre and Charlie Sheen, marking a new chapter in comedic television. Lorre chose to cast Sheen, with whom he had a tumultuous history, based on the actor's past sports betting experiences. Sheen's involvement in Bookie brings a sense of authenticity and humor to the role, and his character stays within comedic lines, distancing himself from past controversies.
Chuck Lorre's new series Bookie has scored a second season order at Max. The first season of the sports-related comedy saw Lorre being reunited with Charlie Sheen for the first time since their falling-out while working on Two and a Half Men. While Sheen is only a guest star in the series, there is no doubt that the publicity around his reconciliation with Lorre played some part in the increased interest in the show.

The sports book is reopening after Max renewed Bookie, starring Sebastian Maniscalco, for a second season.
The renewal comes two weeks after the season one finale of the show, which comes from Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay.
The series, which premiered on November 30, follows bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as he and his partner, former NFL star Ray (Omar Dorsey), romp around Los Angeles trying to keep their illegal sports betting operation in play.
Season 2 presumably will show whether Danny [Spoiler Alert] can win back the affections of his wife Sandra, played by Andrea Anders, after his Super Bowl win seems to have torn them apart, as well as Ray dealing with the fallout of his mother’s wedding, which saw the groom seemingly die at the altar.

Not all memorable '90s shows are the most nostalgic. Some are memorable for a reason, but there are many series that were b-side series. They capture wonderful elements of the 1990s, from music to clothes to popular character types.
Everyone knows Full House, but so many '90s kids watched shows like My So-Called Life and Freaks and Geeks but may have forgotten them. Many actors like Jason Segel, Jared Leto, and Claire Danes got their start in these series. They were just the right age to capture their young adult characters' fashion, friendship, humor, and angst.

Exclusive: I sit down for breakfast with Charlie Sheen not exactly knowing what to expect. His bookend episodes of Bookie that reunited him with Two And a Half Men‘s Chuck Lorre remind of what was lost after the actor’s inexplicable, substance-fueled “Tiger Blood” meltdown led to an abrupt parting of the ways and separating him from one of sitcom TV’s highest-ever salaries at a reported $1.8 million an episode. It has been a dozen years since then, and I come in harboring my own feelings. Basically, Two And a Half Men (the Charlie Harper Years) have been my reliable go-to at the end of most long days in the trenches. I can practically recite the dialogue along with Sheen, Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones, as well as Holland Taylor (their mom), Melanie Lynskey (Charlie’s stalker), Marin Hinkle (Alan Harper’s ex), and the late Conchata Ferrell, who played the housekeeper Berta.

Charlie Sheen isn’t the only “Two and a Half Men” star to reunite with exec producer Chuck Lorre on his new Max comedy “Bookie.” Also making a cameo in the “Bookie” series’ opener: Angus T. Jones, the “half man” from “Two and a Half Men,” now all grown up.
Sheen’s appearance on “Bookie” (which premiered Nov. 30 on Max) is rightfully getting all of the attention, given the newsworthiness of his reunion with Lorre, a decade after their explosive falling out.

But Jones’ appearance is also notable: The young actor wasn’t a regular cast member in the final two seasons of “Two and a Half Men,” and even at one point dismissed his contributions to the show, calling himself “a paid hypocrite.”
Like Sheen, Jones plays himself in the “Bookie” premiere.

The episode revisits the poker scene in Lorre’s Two and a Half Men pilot, which reunites Lorre’s Two and a Half Men alums Charlie Sheen and Angus T. Jones.
In the Bookie premiere, Danny, played by Sebastian Maniscalco, heads to Malibu to collect a debt from Sheen, whom he finds at a rehab facility. But Sheen isn’t a patient at the facility; he’s actually hosting a weekly poker game, and one of the players is “Half Man” Angus T. Lorre spoke about the scene in an interview with Extra. “Charlie and I were discussing recreating that poker scene.

Jones, who played Jake Harper on Two and a Half Men. As noted by TVLine, the scene is a homage to the poker scene in the...

Sheen was eventually fired from the show, and his character,...

The “Big Bang Theory” prequel series is set to return on Feb. 15, with the one-hour series finale set to air on May 16. The season will be shorter than those before it due to the truncated nature of the 2023-2024 scripted broadcast season caused by the writer and actors’ strikes that shutdown Hollywood productions for nearly six months.

Created, written and executive produced by mega producer Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, “Young Sheldon” takes “Big Bang Theory” fans back to the beginning of Sheldon Cooper’s genius. Bookie marks a reunion between Charlie Sheen and Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre. A new trailer features Sheen interacting with the primary characters as he has a guest role on the show. The trailer generates excitement for the upcoming Max show, set to premiere on November 30 with two episodes.
The trailer for Bookie showcases the television reunion between Charlie Sheen and Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre more than twelve years after their high-profile falling out.
With Bookie, Chuck Lorre taps into the evocative pull of nostalgia, uniting a pair of television giants whose history is marked by both creative triumphs and high-profile disputes. The Max comedy series, co-created by Lorre and Nick Bakay, is taking a bold step by casting a familiar face in an unconventional role that reflects a notorious history while crafting a narrative on second chances.

After starring in Two and a Half Men for eight seasons, Charlie Sheen had a very public falling out with series creator Chuck Lorre which led to the actor being fired from the series. We all know what happened next; Winning. Tiger Blood. Total bitchin’ rock star from Mars. So when it was announced that Charlie Sheen would be reuniting with Chuck Lorre for his new Max comedy series How to be a Bookie, people were more than a little shocked.
How to be a Bookie stars Sebastian Maniscalco as a Los Angeles sports betting bookie and the script included a role for a high-rolling celebrity gambler. Chuck Lorre told Variety that he just felt like Charlie Sheen would be perfect for the role. “It should be Charlie,” Lorre said. “I remember Charlie was very much engaged in in sports betting and he would tell me stories about it all the time.

As they were writing the pilot script for their new Max comedy series “Bookie,” co-creators Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay thought it would be fun to add a real-life Hollywood star playing a version of themself as an inveterate gambler. The series stars stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco as Los Angeles sports betting bookie, so it made sense that his character might run into a few high-roller celebrities during his travels.
In early drafts of that Lorre and Bakay script, the character was left as a “Tbd” — to be determined. But Lorre couldn’t shake an idea he had for who might be perfect for the role: “It should be Charlie,” he tells Variety. “I remember Charlie was very much engaged in in sports betting and he would tell me stories about it all the time. You know, when things were good.”

The show tracks an LA bookie called Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco), whose business is in peril as California movies to legalize sports gambling.
Elsewhere in November, there quite a few interesting documentaries to keep an eye on, and two that jump out as “must watch”. The first is Albert Brooks: Defending My Life, which chronicles the aging comedian’s life and career. The second is the previously-released Little Richard: I Am Everything, which tries to peel back the whitewashed canon of Richard Penniman in a true...

If you were looking for sweet, safe, family-friendly content on a Friday night in the late 1990s, ABC's Tgif ("Thank Goodness It's Funny") lineup was your go-to, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch was likely one of your favorites. The show centered on Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina Spellman, a teen who discovers that she has magical powers on her sixteenth birthday. Sabrina lives with her 600-year-old aunts Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick), who help her with her burgeoning powers. The trio is accompanied by their magical talking cat Salem (Nick Bakay), a witch turned into a cat after a failed attempt to take over the world.

Thackery Binx, the immortal black cat in Hocus Pocus, was brought to life using a mix of real cats and animatronics, and the same animatronic cat was later reused in Sabrina the Teenage Witch for Salem Saberhagen. In Sabrina the Teenage Witch, multiple animatronic puppets and trained cats were used to portray Salem, who was a sassy warlock trapped in the body of a cat. The puppeteers operated the animatronic cats hidden behind furniture or off the set. Both Binx and Salem have similar backstories, as they were originally humans who were transformed into black cats. However, Binx's transformation was due to trying to save his sister, while Salem's punishment was for attempting world domination.
