The Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families, continues to build up its star-studded “Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash” by announcing that actor and comedian Kenan Thompson will serve as host. The one-of-a-kind special celebrating the best of Halloween with a nationwide 50-state costume competition judged by a panel of celebrity presenters, including Halloween-expert Martha Stewart, will be broadcast Saturday, October 26, 8–10 p.m. Et/5–7 p.m. Pt.
Anyone with a little imagination and creativity may submit to enter the nationwide costume competition, which is open from now until Sunday, September 29.
Fifty semi-finalists representing each state in America will win a trip to Los Angeles to be a part of the two-hour star-studded event. One lucky winner will take home $25,000 and will have a chance at a walk-on role on the Hub Network’s Daytime Emmy® Award-winning series, “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series.”

Another year, another awards show. I hope you tuned in to the Critics’ Choice Television Awards, because it was a pretty fantastic event. Again, not all of my votes ended up for the winners, and a few of them seem a little questionable to me, but that’s the nature of the beast.
I’m curious where you fit in though. Did the right shows win? Were the right shows even nominated? There were some surprises, like Orphan Black taking home a prize, and there were some obvious choices as well. How’s the mix work for you? By the way, the surprise is only by way of it being a small show with a sci-fi angle, not because it didn’t deserve the win. I mean, that’s a different question…

Well, someone out there in TV land obviously loves horror as much as we do as the 2013 Critics' Choice Awards nominees have been announced, and a lot of our favorites are included.

The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (Btja) announced nominations for the 3rd annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards, which will be held the evening of Monday, June 10, 2013, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. For the first time the award show will be webcast live on UStream.
HBO led the networks in most nominations with 21, followed closely by FX, which collected 19. Topping the list of nominated series are "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS) and "American Horror Story: Asylum" (FX) with six nominations each. (For the full list visit the Critics' Choice website.)
