Alice Backes was born on May 17, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA as Alice Mayrine Backes. She was an actress, known for I Want to Live! (1958), The Cat from Outer Space (1978) and Bachelor Father (1957). She was married to Milton Citron. She died on March 15, 2007 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.

First TV appearance was as a contestant on Groucho Marx's You Bet Your Life (1950).
Served in the WAVES during WWII and arrived in Hollywood in post-war years.
Played numerous dark-haired, matronly support roles on radio, stage, film and TV.
Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Actors Branch).
Appeared in a pilot for an hour-long Kingston Trio "dramedy" shot in Phoenix AZ in the early Sixties.
Graduated from the University of Utah. A talented violinist, she was concert mistress for the University Symphony Orchestra.
