Based on Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's award-winning 12-issue series, the film explores how the Man of Steel spends his remaining year after being diagnosed with a fatal case of radiation poisoning.
Warner Bros. released the full DVD and Blu-Ray specs for the feature this week, as well as the box art for "All Star Superman" on Blu-Ray.
Hitting shelves February 2011, "All Star Superman" boasts an impressive voice cast that includes James Denton ("Desperate Housewives") as Superman, Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") as Lois Lane, Anthony Lapaglia ("Without A Trace") as Lex Luthor, Ed Asner ("Up") as Perry White, Frances Conroy ("Six Feet Under") as Ma Kent, and Matthew Gray Gubler ("Criminal Minds") as Jimmy Olsen, among others.

While covering the panel for Batman: Under the Red Hood at Comic-Con, I stumbled upon the announcement that Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s highly praised All-Star Superman storyline would be made into a full-length animated feature. Now we have the full cast listing and the date you can expect to see the Eisner award-winning storyline brought to life: February 22, 2011. Among the talented cast assembled to voice the icons are James Denton (Desperate Housewives) as Superman, Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) as Lois Lane, Anthony Lapaglia (Without A Trace) as Lex Luthor, and Ed Asner (Up) as Perry White. Kiki Shepard has spent the past 17 years helping to raise awareness for sickle cell disease.
A carrier of the sickle cell trait herself, Shepard hosted the 7th annual celebrity bowling challenge last week to benefit the programs of The K.I.S. Foundation and The Dorothy H. Shepard Scholarship Fund. The event took place at the Pinz Entertainment Center in Studio City, California.
Many of Shepard’s long time supporters and friends came out to participate in the bowling challenge – including Dawn Lewis (formerly of A Different World) and Obba Babatundé (Board Members), James Pickens, Jr. (Grey’s Anatomy), Jacké Harry (Sister, Sister), Vanessa Bell Calloway (The District), and Rocky Caroll (NCIS: Los Angeles). Some new faces included Wayne Brady, Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side), Sara Ramirez and Jesse Williams (both cast members of Grey’s Anatomy).

Ellen Lewis on Michael ShannonWhen I was asked to write about an actor I love, Michael Shannon immediately jumped into my mind. It probably stems from the fact that I'm from Chicago, where Michael lived and worked for many years. In 1998 Paula Muzik, an agent in Chicago, called to tell me about Michael, who was coming to New York in the play "Killer Joe." There was an intensity and disturbing quality to Michael's performance in "Killer Joe." Combined with his physical presence and dark humor, he slightly frightened you. He was unlike any actor I had seen before, and it was exciting to think about the roles one could try him for.Years later I was casting "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" for Sidney Lumet. Sid's office at the time was at Sound One. Casting for Sidney, as other casting directors can attest, is an amazing experience—and unusual, »
On June 21st, The Fallen Faithful will premiere at the Arclight Theatre in Hollywood, CA in front of a packed house. This premiere is the culmination of nearly three years of hard work by a variety people involved with the feature. Back in March 2008, this reporter wandered onto the set to find out more about this independent flick shooting in Tampa Bay. Working with a budget around a million dollars, producer P.J. Leonard briefly spoke with me about what he was looking to achieve with this production at the time. One statement in particular was...
"If this movie can get some attention, I want to continue shooting feature films in the Tampa Bay area."
Really? Wasn't the answer I was expecting to hear, but P.J. clearly has a passion about working in Florida. Which has been documented in past articles covering The Fallen Faithful journey thus far. P.J. »
