- Luis Arcaraz was born on December 5, 1905 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He was an actor and composer, known for Frida (2002), El valiente vive... hasta que el cobarde quiere (1979) and Nadie muere dos veces (1953). He died on December 15, 1963 in San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

His was considered one of the best Latin dance orchestras of all time, voted fourth in a 1949 poll behind Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Duke Ellington.
