Composer and bandleader. Made his musical debut in Tampico in 1928. Was awarded Mexico's Gold Record Award in 1951 for 'Quinto Patio'. Became a noted composer of film music in his native country. His was considered one of the best Latin dance orchestras of all time, voted fourth in a 1949 poll behind Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Duke Ellington. See more »
