What Zap2it is thankful for in 2010

It's been a bountiful year in pop culture, and as Thanksgiving approaches, we at Zap2it wanted to take a few moments to acknowledge a few things that we're grateful for this holiday season.

Every show has its unsung heroes. You know the ones: tertiary characters or recurring stars who steal every scene they're in but get decidedly less attention than those higher up on the call sheet.

This fall, actors like Melissa McCarthy, Julie Benz, and Will Arnett are getting the mainstream recognition they deserve. The Zap2it staff rounded up our favorite supporting cast members who deserve to have their faces on those bus stop posters and billboards next year.

Let the sleepless nights begin — Emerson Drive frontman Brad Mates is a new dad!

The country singer and his wife Jana welcomed son Tyler Robert at 7:04 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, The Boot confirms.

Weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz., baby boy is the first for the couple, who will celebrate their second anniversary in October.

Announcing the pregnancy last month, Mates admitted he was having trouble grasping the idea of fatherhood.

“[Becoming a father] is a little surreal right now,” he said. “I still don’t believe that we’re going to be parents soon.”

Emerson Drive’s Brad Mates is gearing up to sing a different tune: lullabies!

The country crooner and his wife Jana are expecting their first child — a boy to be named Tyler — he revealed during an interview with Cmt.

With their April due date fast approaching, Brad is still getting used to the idea of fatherhood. “[Becoming a father] is a little surreal right now,” he admits. “I still don’t believe that we’re going to be parents soon.”
