Claud Allister was born on October 3, 1888 in London, England as William Claud Michel Palmer. He was an actor, known for The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949), Bulldog Drummond (1929) and The Private Life of Henry VIII. (1933). He was married to Gwen Dowling and Barbara Fay. He died on July 26, 1970 in Santa Barbara, California, USA.

Long-nosed British character actor with large, deep-set eyes and high forehead. A former clerk at the London Stock exchange, educated at Felsted School in Essex. On stage in London from 1910, on Broadway from 1924. Invariably specialised in portraying pompous or bumbling upper class twits - replete with monocle and top hat - both in his native England, and in Hollywood.
