His record is an outstanding 70-2, with 65 wins by way of knockout. Alexio developed a strong friendship with Jean-Claude Van Damme and the two made the highly popular and successful film, The Kickboxer together. Alexio is retired from fighting, but appears at many functions for both the film and martial art's communities.

During December the 6th 1992, Australian kick boxer, Stan "The Man" Longinidis broke his leg. The fight lasted six seconds before Alexio's shin bone was shattered in front of 10,000 fans as well as a further 3000+ watching the show live on closed circuit TV.
