J.J. Abrams Directs a Star-Studded Trailer for a Comic Book Jimmy Kimmel Wrote at 10 Years Old — Watch
J.J. Abrams and Ben Affleck stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on November 13 to celebrate the host’s 50th birthday, and they brought along with them the ultimate gift: a star-studded trailer for a movie based off a comic book Kimmel wrote when he was only 10 years old. Somehow, Abrams was able to round up the likes of Affleck, Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and more to star.

“It demanded to be brought to life. I didn’t change a word,” Abrams told Kimmel about his comic book, entitled “The Terrific Ten.” The trailer runs seven minutes and includes the kind of ridiculous superheroes and villains you’d expect a 10 year old boy to dream up. Naturally, Damon appears as the villain Dr. Bolt.

See Ben Affleck, Matt Damon Bring Jimmy Kimmel's Childhood Comic to Life
Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, J.J. Abrams and other stars compiled a goofy short film to celebrate Jimmy Kimmel's 50th birthday.

The inspiration for the amusing gift was The Terrific Ten, a comic book that Kimmel drew when he was a boy. The story is full of made-up heroes like "Color Kid." "Color Kid was the best because he had all the powers of the rainbow, which are really none," Kimmel joked. "The characters really spoke to me, and they demanded to be brought to life," Abrams said. "I took

Perhaps the best gift of the night came from guest Ben Affleck and director J.J. Abrams. “I was able to start this really, really exciting superhero project. That’s my next thing. In fact, the director’s here. I wanted to bring him out,” Affleck said, introducing the Star Wars director.

Abrams brought Kimmel a very special comic book, which the late night host revealed he wrote and drew at the age of nine.

Howie Dorough Dishes on His ‘Bachelor’-Like Romance Ahead of 10th Wedding Anniversary (Exclusive)
Leigh Boniello was a 26-year-old music enthusiast, anxiously starting a new job for the Backstreet Boys during the height of their fame, when suddenly she found herself caught up in an epic made-for-tv romance.

“Her job was to get content of us doing stuff outside of the everyday show ritual, and I was always the one who would put my hand up when they’d ask, ‘Does anyone want to go hang-gliding in Rio today?’” Howie Dorough recalls to Et. “So, she would come out and we did the pyramids and so many fun things. I always joked the website became mostly about me!”

“It was like being on The Bachelor, because it was all these crazy experiences,” adds Leigh. “It was like, ‘Here we are in Mexico, let’s get a private tour of the pyramids and go on crazy adventures together!’ It just lent itself to a romantic situation.”

Sure enough, romance

Why Yes, That Is Who You Think It Is at the Beginning of Thor: Ragnarok

  • BuzzSugar
Spoiler alert: this post describes a plot detail and celebrity appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. One of the best things about Marvel movies is the Easter eggs, and Thor: Ragnarok is no exception. We get all of the standard goodies when it comes to the third Thor film: two postcredits scenes, the inclusion of Loki and Hulk (which we know thanks to the trailers), and all of the majesty of Cate Blanchett. The best part, though, is the cameos! While Thor: Ragnarok does feature the traditional Stan Lee cameo, there's an even more hilarious apperance: it's f*cking Matt Damon! We might've suspected Damon was somehow involved in the new Thor movie. After all, he attended the premiere in La last week, and he even crashed Chris Hemsworth's interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live . . . which, to be fair, doubles as the latest dig in his long-running "feud" with Jimmy Kimmel. At this point,

How Chris Hemsworth Convinced [Spoiler] to Make That Secret Cameo in 'Thor: Ragnarok' (Exclusive)
Spoilers below for Thor: Ragnarok.

If Matt Damon's involvement in the Thor: Ragnarok press cycle (his "surprise" appearance on the red carpet at the premiere, that time he crashed Chris Hemsworth's Jimmy Kimmel interview) has seemed stranger than, say, a doctor-turned spell-casting sorcerer supreme, there's a reason. The reason is that Damon is in the movie.

If you recall, at the end of Thor: The Dark World, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) does away with his father (played by Sir Anthony Hopkins), then assumes Odin's identity to take over the throne. If you don't remember the plot of The Dark World, there's an early sequence in Ragnarok in which Thor returns to Asgard to find Loki-as-Odin enjoying a play that recaps the climax of the last movie, where Loki seemingly dies a heroic death. (Essentially, this scene.)

In that Asgardian theatre troupe, the role of Thor is played by Hemsworth's

The Most Shocking, Grisly and Heartbreaking Deaths on TV — IndieWire Critics Survey

The Most Shocking, Grisly and Heartbreaking Deaths on TV — IndieWire Critics Survey
Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)

This week’s question: What’s the most memorable death — scripted please! — you’ve seen on TV? It could be disturbing, crazy, heartbreaking, etc. Old and current shows fair game.

Tim Surette (@timsurette), TV.com

I can’t seem to scrape the death of Charlie in the Season 3 finale of “Lost” from my mind — I can remember every part of that scene so many years later. There was something about the way the scene was written and shot that was just perfect, and even though it was the perfect time to say goodbye to the character, it was still hard to let him go. Charlie died a hero, dudes. Driveshaft forever!
